Teachers are past having a lot on their plates—they have multiple trays with plenty of plates, and this includes everything from lesson plans, teaching students, and being the occasional disciplinarian.

On top of all this are field trips and a host of other activities in and out of the classroom, and this means writing up permission slips for almost anything occurring outside of the classroom. One way to make things a little easier is to add text to a blank field trip permission slip. Instead of creating a new permission slip for every field trip, teachers have a template and just go from there.

Benefits of Using a Permission Slip Template

Saves Time

Parents have it easy; they just skim over the permission slip and sign their name. As long as they approve of the field trip, there aren’t any issues. If they don’t want their little one participating they simply don’t give permission. However, teachers have it a little harder.

They need to create permission slips for everyone in their classroom. With the average class size consisting of over 20 students, and that’s a lot of permission slips to create. By the time you’re done, it’s no wonder you have writer’s cramp.

An easier way to accomplish this that also saves you some time is to use a template. The template is basically a blank online document with fields you fill in. Instead of writing out 20+ permission slips, the template does everything for you. Just fill in the information you need, things like the type of field trip and where you’re going.

Print out how many permission slips you need and send them home with your students, and that’s it! You’re done until the permission slips start trickling back in.

Affordable

Pretty much everyone knows you’re not going to get rich teaching. Not only are teacher salaries not the best, but you often find yourself purchasing supplies for the classroom out of your pocket.

Add in the costs associated with purchasing pre-printed permission slips, and your budget may be down to eating in the cafeteria with your students. While this isn’t a bag thing, most teachers prefer to be able to afford to purchase lunch outside of the campus.

Since permission slips are part of school activities, you can easily take over the office printer. Since you’re only printing off 20 or so slips, you’re not hogging the school printer. You can easily take care of printing on your lunch break. Now, everything’s ready to go before your class leaves for the day.

What to Look for In Downloadable Permission Slips

Finding downloadable permission slips is a breeze. A simple online search and you’re suddenly faced with almost endless options. Look for permission slips with fillable fields. In other words, the fields are blank, so you can use the same template over and over again.

You should also find templates that work across a variety of devices. A good way to know is when the template has a mobile app. This way, you can edit the permission slip template at home or school. When you can add text to a black permission slip, one part of teaching suddenly becomes just a little bit easier.
