Every year, football fans across the country look forward to watching their favorite teams compete in the big game of the year! With this special event comes funny commercials, memorable moments with family and friends, and delicious food! So how do you get ready for this big event? Check out our 6 ways to get ready for the Big Game.
6 Ways to Get Ready for the Big Game
1 – Location. The first thing you want to do is make sure you have a location with a working television and plenty of seating if you’re inviting family and friends to join in the viewing fun. Be sure to have the heater ready to go or fans if it’s warm outside.
2 – Decorations. One of my favorite ways to prepare for the Big Game is to find the decorations. You definitely do not want to leave this until the last minute. As soon as I start seeing football decorations at the store, I buy them. Some of my favorites include the football-themed napkins and plates. You can find these at big box stores or dollar stores.
3 – Drinks. Be sure to have plenty of water on hand, as well as soda or juice for the kids and adult drink makings. You may want to also consider buying a bag or two of ice if your ice machine doesn’t make a lot of ice or is slow in making ice. It’s also fun to drink when betting with friends at fun888 login.
4 – Appetizers. If you’re inviting family and friends over to view the Big Game, you may consider making it a potluck and having each person or family bring an appetizer to share. There are lots of easy and yummy recipes out there to make and enjoy. Chips and dips or cheese and crackers are always a big hit!
5 – Main Dish. If you have a lot of appetizers, you may decide against a main dish. However, casseroles or taco bars are crowd pleasers. I personally love making the Green Chile Chicken Enchilada Casserole for these types of get-togethers.
6 – Dessert. I personally think you should always have a dessert or sweet dish when hosting a get-together. For our viewing of the Big Game, we’re going to enjoy a football brownie dessert. Football Brownie Dessert
Supplies
- Brownies
- Green Frosting or Icing
- White Icing in a tube with #3 tip
- Voortman Bakery wafers
- Toothpicks
Directions
1 – Bake your brownies. I used 2 family size boxes of brownie mix for our dessert and baked it a 9×13 pan. While the brownies are baking, you may want to start coloring your icing or frosting. Or you can even buy already colored icing from your local bakery. I made green icing for our dessert.
2 – Frost the brownies. Once the brownies are cool, you’ll want to frost them. I tried to do a layer that was thick enough to cover any of the raised brownie parts, but not too thick.
3 – Draw your lines with white icing. I bought a tube of white icing and used a tip to draw the lines on our dessert. The lines turned out pretty straight for the most part.
4 – Create your football goal post. To create our football goal post, we used the Voortman Bakery wafers and toothpicks. We then used toothpicks to hold it in place in the brownies.
5 – Create your football. I used the Fudge Coated Chocolate Wafers from Voortman Bakery and the white frosting in a tube with tip #3 to create our footballs. I think they turned out really cute!

These are great ideas. Sadly, my team wasn’t playing so I didn’t even watch. I watched the halftime show, but not the game itself as I felt like a sore loser and just didn’t want to see two teams that I don’t like play. I am happy though Kansas City won simply because they haven’t won a Superbowl in like 50 years.
