Easy as Brushing Your Teeth: A recent study found that when you keep your sunscreen next to your toothpaste, you’re 20% more likely to apply every morning.
Set an Alarm or Calendar Appointment on Your Phone:
We all live busy, over-scheduled lives. Setting a daily SPF reminder will help get you in the habit. Bonus points if the alarm plays “Here Comes the Sun.”
Choose Makeup With SPF: While you’ll still need to layer sunscreen underneath, makeup with SPF will give you a little sun protection boost.

Go High: Research shows that higher SPF prevents a greater amount of sunburning rays from reaching your skin. 4th of July and the weekend following was a lot of fun for our family! It included RV camping on the beach, driving along the Central Coast and then going for a boat ride (and swimming in the lake) at Lake Lopez. Of course, all of this was complete with lots of applications of Neutrogena® sunscreen! I personally prefer the spray kind to the lotion as it’s quick and easy to apply and the kids kind of think it’s fun too. You can find it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS and even Costco! While I really like the Neutrogena® Ultra Sheer® Dry-Touch variety and the Neutrogena® Beach Defense® Water + Sun Protection Sunscreen (always looking for SPF 70 and higher if possible), there different varieties available.
Tips for Using Sunscreens
1 – Sunscreen is the most important step in your regular skin care and makeup routine. Always use at least an SPF 30. A higher SPF prevents a greater amount of the sun’s rays from reaching your skin.
2 – Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before you go out in the sun.
3 – Reapply, reapply, reapply — after swimming, sweating or using a towel, as well as every two hours.
4 – If you’re a mom, take note! Follow the #MimicMommy philosophy and apply SPF in front of your kids. You are their best teacher – research shows that children’s sunscreen use is linked to watching mom apply.

We recently returned from vacation and we used a lot of this sunscreen. Neutrogena is always our sunscreen brand of choice.

It’s so important to keep your skin safe. We always have sunscreen with us when we go out. We were just at the beach and slathered ourselves with it.

Oh my! That handle/application on that is LIFE. It is such a pain to use the other sprays or the lotions. That looks so easy.

When I was young, I’d only use SPF15. Now that I’m older (and wiser) I always use SPF50 on myself and my kids.

The Neutrogena body mist bottle is an interesting design. That is definitely unique for a sunscreen bottle.

I love Neutrogena! I did not know that they made so many different types of sunscreen. My youngest daughter does a great job of reminding us to put on sunscreen every time we leave the house.
Living in a lovely climate means we spend a lot of time outdoors all year round. Every day is a SUNday, so it’s important to have coverage all the time. We love our Neutrogena!
We lived in BC for more than 20 years, so I definitely have first hand experience in sunburns — also I burn so easily. I love the the spray on sunscreen. I have found if I do accidentally get a burn, I apply the spray on sunscreen and usually my burn fades by morning or the next day. Although it is much better to remember to use it before going into the sunshine. Thanks for sharing!

Sunscreen is not only needed in summer. It is also necessary even when it’s cloudy and humid, when radiation is most likely to be high. This one is perfect for protecting our skin.
Since summer has ended here I just kept the half-empty bottle of Neutrogena SPF50 face and neck sunscreen. I always believe in this product.
