I love to bake!  Whether it’s cake, cupcakes, cookies, brownies – you name it, I love to bake it.  I also love to decorate what I bake, especially cupcakes.  Usually when I bake cupcakes, I use Devil’s Food Cake Mix, but this time, I used Pillsbury’s Moist Supreme Dark Chocolate Premium Cake Mix.  Talk about a yummy cupcake!

The Dark Chocolate Cake Mix was good paired with either Pillsbury’s Peppermint Flavored Frosting or Pillsbury’s Holiday Funfetti Frosting in Garland Green Vanilla or Rudolph Red Vanilla.  Not only were they bright colored frostings with fun sprinkles, but they tasted yummy too (even enough to eat a little right out of the container).  I also love how easy the frosting was to spread on the cupcakes and to use in my decorator bags!

TIPS FOR DECORATING CUPCAKES:

So, I mentioned that I love to decorate cupcakes.
Well, I have a few handy tips for you on how to easily decorate your cupcakes.

#spon #Pillsbury #CelebrateMore

1 – Use Disposable Decorating Bags.  I am all about the ease of decorating.  I have a few different Featherweight Bags, but I prefer to use the Disposable Decorating Bags so I can just throw the bag away when I’m done.  Depending on the frosting, it can take some time to really get your Featherweight Decorating Bag clean.

2 – Use different tips for different looks.  I have a large variety of decorating tips and love to change it up when I’m decorating!  For decorating cupcakes, I like to use Tip #22, #32, and #199.

3 – Swirl your colors.  Ok, so this is the first time I’ve ever attempted to swirl my frosting colors and I really liked how it turned out!  Plus, it was so easy to do!  I already had the red and green frosting in their decorating bags and simply combined the two in another decorating bag.  I do think next time that I’ll remove the tips before squeezing the frosting into the combined bag, just so the pressure is more even.

4 – Top your decorated cupcake with festive sprinkles to add color and character.  When decorating cupcakes, I love to add sprinkles or sparkle.  Something to really make the frosting on the cupcake pop!  With Pillsbury’s Holiday Funfetti Frostings, they already come with the sprinkles, which is awesome!

  5. I actually don’t have one particular flavor that I like to use. I like to change it up every time I make cupcakes! I do use icing tips to decorate them though. It’s so much faster and prettier than just spreading the icing on. You can even do it when the cupcakes are still slightly warm and it doesn’t rub the cake off! I haven’t used toppings over the icing, but you’re cupcakes are super cute so I’ll have to try!
