I don’t know about you, but I love makeup! I love to wear it, buy it and learn about the different formulas and color combinations there are out there when it comes to applying makeup. I don’t know about you, but I hate purchasing a full-size product, using it and then finding out I HATE it! What’s worse is when you can’t return it after you discover you don’t like it. That’s where the beauty box subscriptions come in handy. You get to try out products and decide for yourself if you like them or not and whether you want to purchase them in the future. If you go to the Sephora site (or even the store), you’ll notice the red “Allure” symbols on various products. These are “Best of Beauty Award Winners” chosen by Allure. Knowing this, I was really excited to start receiving the Allure Beauty Box Subscription Boxes.

Allure’s monthly beauty box offers top-trending, editor-tested makeup and beauty picks with a $50-$90 value for only $15 (plus tax) a box. Within each monthly box, you will receive full and travel-size products selected by Allure experts and a mini-mag with tips, shortcuts, and step-by-steps.

The Allure Beauty Box is one of my favorite subscription boxes (in addition to FabFitFun and PopSugar Must Have). With tax, this beauty box subscription costs $16.09 per month, but I get way more than that in product! I love that these are the same brands I would find at Sephora, Ulta or in the beauty section of department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom’s. The November Allure Beauty Box was filled with all kinds of different face masks. It was great! It included Lapcos Pearl Brightening Metallic Sheet Mask, Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask, Kocostar Rose Lip Mask, Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment, Patchology Flashpatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels, Starskin Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks, and Invisibobble Original Hair Ties. Let’s check it out (note: product descriptions as written in booklet included with beauty box)!

Lapcos Pearl Brightening Metallic Sheet Mask

The word “brightening” gets thrown around a lot, but this sheet mask makes good on its promise. “I always wear foundation, but this mask made my skin look so radiant all over that I skipped my usual base routine so the glow could show through,” says Jesa Marie Calaor, an editorial assistant at Allure. “It’s loaded with serum, but it never dripped. I was actually running around and cleaning my apartment, and the mask didn’t slip or move. After I took it off and rubbed in the excess serum, my skin was bouncy with moisture, and even in my cheeks, which can get really dry, felt nice and soft.”

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask

It’s hard for any one sheet mask to stand out – it seems like a new one launches every minute – so it’s impressive that Glow Recipe’s has a devoted following. It’s also easy to see why it’s so beloved. It comes in two pieces (one for the top half of your face, one for the bottom) to better fit most face shapes. “It’s transparent, so I wear it on flights, since it doesn’t look too obvious,” says Devon Abelman, Allure‘s digital beauty reporter. “It’s soothing enough to calm my skin‘s redness, and it hydrates really well – it breaks up the flakiness I get on dry patches.” Because it clings to skin, you can putter around while you wear it. Bonus: It smells like Sour Patch watermelon gummies.

Kocostar Rose Lip Mask

Lip masks are made for selfies (just ask Emma Stone), but this particular mask is more than a prop. It smooths, hydrates, and plumps lips with rose water, and it’s free of parabens and pthalates (stuff you probably don’t want to swallow). “It smells lovely, like roses,” says Brennan Kilbane, Allure‘s senior writer. “It is nearly impossible to keep on your lips if you sitting upright, which is as great an excuse as any to lie down.” But once it’s off, it moisturizes without leaving too much serum behind, making it a great base for lipstick.

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment

If you wear foundation every day, are prone to breakouts, or are generally in the market for a skin detox, good news: This charcoal and kaolin clay mask is like a vacuum cleaner for pores. “As it dries, I can see all these little dots – especially on and around my nose – where oil is being sucked out of my skin, and my face feels super clean and fresh after,” says Jilhan Forbes, a digital editor at Allure. “What can I say – I’m obsessed.”

Patchology Flashpatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels

These glittering undereye masks work, and they work quickly: “Within five minutes, my under-eyes felt super hydrated and looked brighter – see ya, dark circles!” says Madisen Theobald, associate manager social media at Allure. The soft, comfy gels tighten puffs with caffeine and plump fine lines with moisture. I like using them while I do my eye makeup – it preps under-eyes for concealer and catches eye shadow fallout all at once.

Starskin Exfoliating Double-Layer Foot Mask Socks

There’s such a thing as a sheet mask for your feet – go figure! – and it’s basically a pedicure in overdrive. Tear open this package and inside you’ll find a pair of plastic socks lined with a lactic acid peel that’s designed to get rid of calluses. Slip them on – they feel squishy – and get ready to watch TV so you’re not sliding around your home. Rinse off your feet after an hour, and wait for it: Over the next week, calluses peel off like a snake molting, which is as satisfying as it sounds. Just don’t use these if you’ve got cuts or blisters on your feet.

Invisibobble Original Hair Rings

This (obviously) isn’t a mask, but it is easier to mask when you’ve got a good hair tie, and these don’t leave a crease, which, c’mon,m is genius! I use them when I’m washing my face, cooking, or any other time I want to get my hair off my face temporarily. Buy they’re still strong enough to hold my long hair in a ponytail all day without sagging or giving me a headache, which traditional elastics tend to do. The only downside: Bring one of these around a toddler, and there’s a 50 percent chance they’ll abscond with it as a new bracelet (the writer of the pamphlet speaks from experience).
