A few months ago, our family moved to a larger house on about an acre of land. With this move came more room, pets, livestock and a septic tank. I have never lived on property with a septic tank before, so the processes and the do’s and don’ts were all new to me. Like for instance, did you know that you CANNOT use any products that have bleach in them when you’re on a septic system? Looking for professional plumbers? This Oshkosh plumber here cares about getting the job done right.

According to the Brisbane’s Trusted Plumbing & Gas Experts, the bleach destroys the good bacteria that is needed in the septic system and can eat away the pipes as well, so to keep it clean then you should simply do septic tank pumping. You also have to use “septic safe” toilet paper and you CANNOT flush your tampons down the toilet. Yes – that’s a whole other blog post in itself. While being on a septic system can save money on the water bill, it can also cost a LOT of money if we have to have a plumber come out to fix something, but if it’s already too late and you need a quick repair then you should contact emergency plumbing services. With Plumber perth you can make sure to save a lot of money and get the job done as well. In addition, if you have water damage issues in your home, then this obviously needs advanced plumbing skills, so it’s highly advised to hire professional plumbers who can provide expert water damage restoration services.

When we first moved in (like literally the same week we moved in), our downstairs bathroom backed up and flooded. It was BAD! There was toilet water and stuff all over the downstairs bathroom floor. Thankfully we caught it fast enough before it could do any real damage. We had two different plumbers come out at different times to fix it and one was on the weekend – yuck! Talk about expensive! These plumber visits added up fast. What our plumber in Sydney ended up finding out was that it was a root ball growing in the pipe leading to the septic tank and stuff would get caught on the root ball and then the water and stuff would back out into the first thing it hit – the bottom bathroom. After taking a camera down the pipe, digging up the backyard and then replacing the pipe, it was fixed.

However, if you need some experienced and skilled technicians who have the necessary expertise to handle any pipe replacement project, then look no further than this repiping los angeles service. They use top-quality materials and products to ensure the highest standard of results. You can also enjoy fast and efficient service in order to minimize disruptions and headaches for every homeowner.

While most homes don’t experience these kind of disasters when it comes to the septic tank, they do experience the classic hair-clogged drain. So if we can’t use bleach-based products, what can we use? In our home, we like to use the Roto-Rooter products for unclogging drains on septic systems. It’s affordable and works great!

When it comes to our plumbing needs, my husband sees to it what he can DIY and what he can’t, then we call in the professionals. But with clogged drains, this product looks like it will get the job done. I’ll tell my husband about this. Thank you for sharing!

  9. MS//Mommy says:

We have issues with hair in our drains (my fault) so we’re always on the hunt for a better drain cleaner. I will have to pass this post along to my significant other so we can check it out.

I have heard a lot of great things about them but I am unsure if I can use it as I have a septic tank with a leech field – would it hurt my plumbing and the leeches?

  13. Kathy says:

We try to do most the stuff around the house ourselves too. My husband and I have had our house for close to two years now. So far everything we have fixed, we have done ourselves. Saves a lot more money that way if you can do it yourself.

  15. Heather says:

Our 99-year-old home is full of charm…and plumbing issues. I know soon we will need to have the house repiped, but Roto-Rooter saves us so much frustration and money.

  17. Rosey says:

My SIL is having all kinds of problems with her septic. She just had a truck come in and now has a $2400 bill. They found all kinds of things in the line from whomever owned the house previously. The funniest thing (though not really funny, all things considered) was a rubber duck. I’ll share the brand with her for unclogging hair!

  18. Mary says:

I use this product all the time and it works. So much cheaper than calling a plumber.

  19. Chin chin says:

I don’t think we have Roto-Rooter products in our location. Thank God we have not experienced serious plumbing issues yet.

  24. These are great tips. Listen, home ownership is great but comes with having to do fixes like these. So, thanks for sharing.

  25. I know there are some pretty good hair removal systems. It’s just the plumbers I have known never liked them. They always said they caused problems. But maybe because it leaves them out of the equation.

  26. Interesting! This is a good reminder to take care of those clogs before it becomes a much bigger problem. I didn’t even think of Roto Rooter!

  27. Congratulations on the move to your new home. It’s really hard when you have to deal with flooded bathrooms and stuff, good thing it was checked in time. I have never heard about the roto-rooter products but it sounds like a good product.
