    SignUp sounds awesome! I think this would make being the class party mom so much easier. It’s so hard to wrangle all the other parents sometimes.

    I was a room mother in every one of my children’s classes all through school. Granted they were not always in public school. Health issues of my daughter created the need for her to be homeschooled some of the time.
    Regardless yes to your list! Plus some decor sometimes as well.
    I love that there is an app these days to help parents with this as it is quite the task! A fun and rewarding one but still a task.

    These are great! As a middle school teacher, it’s always nice when parents try their best to help out and organize the parties themselves, it’s definitely going to lighten the workload for me.

    • It is always great to have someone from the other side of the line chime in with their views. Sometimes I don’t think teachers get the credit they deserve. Anything someone could do to help would be such an amazing thing for so many teachers.

    I can’t believe it’s time fro school already!! GAH!! It seems like kids were just getting out a couple of weeks ago. I don’t have kids but I do know that around here we can’t bring baked goods because of potential allergies.

    Great advice. The class stats are so important. It seems like 1-2 in 5 kids in our classes always have some type of allergy. It’s best to be safe and considerate.

    This looks like a really awesome app. I think the best thing to keep in mind when organizing a class party is special diets and allergies. That way, we let parents and other organizers stay clear of food that may pose a medical emergency. SignUp.com would be a great way to communicate and make any class party a success.

  21. Very great tips! I remember a friend before, she prepared for the entire class, only to find out, the kids are not allowed to eat sweet ice cream cakes, so they brought home everything.

  48. Learning a classes “stats” are vital nowadays. It seems like there are more and ore food allergies these days that can cause a lot of harm.

    Class parties sound like so much fun! I love a party with a theme. As a teacher in the UK, we only really have a Christmas party day and a couple of school discos throughout the year. Would love to do some more.

  50. These look like great tips! My kids are grown (in their 20s and 30s), but I do have grandchildren and the oldest is going to full-time kindergarten this year. My daughter (her mommy) is an event planner and photographer, so I’m sharing this post with her, because I’m sure she would enjoy it!

  54. Oh my gosh, we can’t believe it’s back to school time already! Where did the summer go? Such great tips, we absolutely LOVE the spider relay idea! Finding fun games to play makes a class party all the more fun.

  58. I was a Special Ed Teacher and used to love throwing parties for my clases, especially at the end of the year, this sounds like a great way to keep things organized as there is always so much to consider, especially allergies!
