Let the Frigidaire Stain Games Begin!

At the end of April, I had a blast at the Frigidaire Stain Games in Los Angeles, California!  I met some amazing bloggers and their kids, as well as Jennifer Garner!  The “Stain Games” were conceived to celebrate Frigidaire’s new stain-fighting washer and dryer and help promote healthier lifestyles for children in need.  Let me tell you, I saw them in person and would LOVE to own a pair some day!!!  Jennifer Garner and a few special coaches planned for a fun-filled afternoon of batting practice to help support the cause.  Frigidaire teamed up with Jennifer and went to bat against stains to spread awareness about the work of Save the Children.

You can visit Make Time For Change and take your own virtual swing to support the cause.  For every swing, Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children towards their overall commitment of $500,000 to the organization.  Participants will also be entered for a chance to win a brand new Frigidaire Affinity washer and dryer set featuring Ready Steam, ensuring whiter whites and improved stain removal.

I was super excited to meet Jennifer Garner in person and she is just as awesome as I hoped she would be!  I even had a chance to briefly talk to her (right after a fly landed in my eye – go figure – lol).  On the field or off, actress and mother of two, Jennifer Garner is not afraid of a little dirt.  And to prove it, she teamed up with Frigidaire, makers of the new Frigidaire Affinity washer and dryer, to kick off the 2011 “Stain Games” to help raise funds and awareness for Save the Children’s  U.S. Programs.

Dozens of young players hit the field at LA’s Glendale Park in support of children living in poverty, while Garner gamely took the first pitch to inspire Moms everywhere to do good and look good, too.  This latest campaign is part of Frigidaire’s $500,000 commitment to support Save the Children’s efforts to promote healthier lifestyles for children living in poverty by providing nutritious snacks and regular opportunities for children to be physically active.

“This is a great way to support an important cause!” said Garner.  “There’s no better way to encourage kids to be active than to get out there and run around yourself.”

“Through Save the Children’s CHANGE program, we are ensuring that children living in poverty in rural America have access to nutritious snacks, like fresh fruits and whole grains, and opportunities to get some healthy exercise,” said Mark Shriver, Senior Vice President of U.S. Programs for Save the Children.  “With continued support from Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner, we’re helping give children the foundation they need for a lifetime of good health.”

The Frigidaire Clean-Up Crew was on standby with the new Frigidaire Affinity washers and dryers in case any stains were sustained.  The new washers are designed with Ready Steam to ensure cleaner clothes with improved stain removal.

“The new Frigidaire Affinity laundry collection is designed to get parents out of the laundry room and on to the things they love to do,” said Marty O’Gorman, general manager of Frigidaire.  “We offer the largest washers and dryers in their class, 4.4 cubic feet, so you can wash and dry all those uniforms even faster.  Our Ready Clean setting offers a better, gentler cleaning with up to 30% less energy and water.  And with Frigidaire Affinity, wash time equals dry time – so you don’t wait around for clothes to dry.”

The entire new Frigidaire appliance line is available nationwide at select independent appliance dealers and at Best Buy, Lowe’s, Sears.

Brian and I left Nipomo in the evening and fortunately missed the notorious LA traffic.  We were super excited when we arrived at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.  It was gorgeous and the room was comfy with a gorgeous view!  We were greeted with a Frigidaire goody bag, complete with healthy snacks for our overnight stay in the hotel.

The bed was SO comfortable and our view the next morning was amazing!  I had no idea we’d be able to see the Hollywood sign from our room.

I had so much fun at the event and Brian did as well!  I had a chance to meet Jennifer Garner, as well as Marty O’Gorman, general manager of Frigidaire.  I also met some amazing bloggers and reunited with some friends I’ve met through blogging.  I hope someday that I can furnish my home with my own Frigidaire appliances!  A girl can hope, right?

When we arrived at the baseball field, there was a large tent with a Frigidaire Affinity Washer and Dryer set up.  There were also a bunch of yummy goodies.  The kids were then provided with baseball uniforms to change into for the Stain Games.  I had a blast talking with other bloggers and Brian hung out with a few of the other kids.  Then it was off to play ball!

  2. Wow! What an amazing event. It looks like you had a blast! I will admit that I loved my Frigidaire washer and dryer when I got ’em five years ago, but since then, I’ve pumped about $400 into them! Ugh.
