“The Back-Up Plan” DVD Giveaway

On Tuesday, August 24th, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released “The Back-Up Plan” on DVD and Blu-ray! This romantic comedy stars Jennifer Lopez and Hollywood’s newest stud (seriously), Alex O’Loughlin. It’s the unconventional tale about love, marriage, and a baby – but in reverse.  You can find in stores and online now, retailing for $20.95.

Synopsis:

Jennifer Lopez stars as Zoe, a single New Yorker who dreams about meeting Mr. Right, having a baby and living happily ever after. But after a string of Mr. Wrongs, Zoe commits to her back-up plan: to take on motherhood alone. Zoe’s plan proves far from foolproof when moments after her procedure she’s swept up into a whirlwind romance with Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), the man of her dreams. Can Zoe hide her pregnancy until Stan is ready for the truth? Or will the truth send him packing? The Back-Up Plan is a hilarious romantic comedy about courtship, love, marriage and parenthood – but not necessarily in that order!

  1. Menu planning is the best way that I can keep my home under control! When I come home and don’t know “What’s for dinner, Mommy?”, I get so overwhelmed! Now that I’ve been menu planning and doing my weekly cooking on the weekends, I am lost when I don’t!

  2. Each experience is different, each mother has different support groups, and each has a different mind set. The best I advice I could give to a new mother is to try to take one day a week just for you. I know that is not easy, but it will keep you grounded. 🙂 Thank you.

  3. While I am not a mother the thing that my sisters have stated that they do is that there has to be some point in each day (be it 5 minutes or an hour) where it is just about them. There is not kids no hubby or anything else involved.

  4. don’t be afraid to make time for yourself and use babysitters. you can’t do it all. other people will take care of your child well too! don’t burn yourself out or you can’t truly help your child either.

  5. Make out a daily list of things that need to get done. Check them off as they are completed. This will help one stay organized and less stressed.

  7. It is ok to ask for help. I was one of thoes new mom’s who thought she could everything. I now know I have people around me who is willing to help especially my family and I dont feel like a failure if I do call and ask.

  8. Don’t stress about the little things like a clean house. It’s way more important to spend time with your kids than it is to have a spotless house.

  9. i say relax, the house doesnt need to be spotless, the dishes can go for a while , the laundry will be there the next day, 10 years down the road do you want to remember when your baby ran to you for the first time and hugged you or that your house looked spotless? again , relax!

  10. i am a fan of the back up plan on facebook, traci smith
oops meant i like the mommy files on facebook above!!!but i follow on it too , lol

  11. What worked for me was to stop working. Sixteen years later, I know it was the best thing I had ever did. I don’t miss out on my children growing up, their accomplishments, etc., and I don’t have other people watching them and experiencing those things. My work in the home is more important and more fulfilling than any job I could ever wish for. I know some people say they have to work to make ends meet; but, when I sat down and figured out the expenses of child care deducted from my pay, it didn’t leave much to make it worth it. Plus, becoming a professional couponer, rebater, and sweepstaker reduced our out-of-pocket expenses tremendously. We get so much for free or next to nothing that it actually made it more affordable to stay home; and my income was around $30,000/year 16 years ago. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to do.

  13. my advice is don’t stress out if the house isn’t clean or the clothes aren’t washed…as my mom tells me if someone doesn’t like it tell them to do it!!

    thanks

  14. Just remember to kiss your babies everyday…..no matter how old they are. Mine are 13 & 9 and sometimes I have to sneak it in when they are sleeping. 🙂

  15. Make lists and ask for help when you need it! I’m a list-maker and have always been one…it helped quite a bit while I was pregnant with my son (now 3) and it still does. I tend to forget things, so it’s nice to have those notes all over the house to remind me!

  16. Stop expecting everything to be perfect—a perfectly clean house, perfectly behaved children, etc.–just ease up and enjoy life more.

  17. Don’t plan your life ahead too much..with kids you never know what can/will happen.Take help if it is offered, it won’t last forever and you will soon be doing way more then you were used to

  18. My advice for new mom’s is enjoy them while they are so little.. one day you will miss it dearly. Don’t stress the house being a little messy…at least it looks lived in and it will look worse once the kid/kids start playing and running around the house. And finally.. when the kid/kids are taking a nap… make time for yourself to relax.. take a long hot bath.. take a nap yourself.. paint your nails..read.. anything to relax.

  19. Spending time with the kiddies is more important than cleaning up.
I do my best clean up after they are in bed.

  20. let people help you , dont think you know it all.
enjoy the time when they are younger!
cant wait to see this movie either!!

  21. Don’t feel guilty at either place—-meaning do not worry if you are not perfect at home or cannot work the overtime you used to do at work.

  22. My number one tip is to take time for yourself. When people offer to help, let them.

  23. I saw this movie on the plane ride home this week….it is great!

TIP: always take a nap when baby does, the housework can wait.

  24. Don’t stress over the small stuff. Don’t worry about little things like diaper blow outs and being covered in puke. They happen, you do what you have to do and move on. Housework can wait and time goes by fast so don’t miss out on every detail and milestone your little one has.

  25. The best tip I can give new moms is to know that your house probably won’t be as clean as it used to be, unless your are fortunate enough to have help in that area.

  26. sleep sleep sleep! It’s the key to everything. You wake up feeling better and thus your day goes better. If not your stressed out because you slept in! Now your running late!
