McNeill Designs Board Games Review & Giveaway

I love playing games in my family and was excited to have the opportunity to review some fun games from McNeill Designs.  I received You’ve Been Sentenced, as well as Add-on Decks, and Twisted Fish!  They are a lot of fun to play and will keep you busy for hours!

You’ve Been Sentenced is a fun game where  you take a unique word deck of pentagon shaped cards and make grammatically correct and justifiable sentences.  It’s even more fun when the players have to read their sentences out loud and explain what they mean to the rest of the players.  The other players than form the jury and vote thumbs up or down on whether the sentence and justification stand and the points are scored.  There are 540 cards with over 2,500 words, insuring billions of possible sentences.  You’ll never play the same game twice!  The game is designed for ages 8 and up, takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes to play, and needs 3-10 players to play!  You’ve Been Sentenced retails for $24.95.

You’ve Been Sentenced also has Add-On Decks to make the game even more challenging and fun!  The Reader’s Digest National Word Power Challenge Deck is an officially licensed deck that is taken from the Word Powere page of Reader’s Digest and the magazine’s national student vocabulary tournament – the Reader’s Digest Word Power Challenge.  The Sports Highlights Deck contains the lingo of the field, court, and diamond, legendary sports heroes, technical terms, and favorite teams.  The Gourmet Cuisine Deck is filled to overflowing with famous chefs, exotic spices, and all of the kitchen gizmos necessary to cook up some fun!  There is also the Sci-fi and Fantasy Deck and the Pop Culture Deck.

Twisted Fish is another fun game from McNeill Designs!  Twisted Fish is ideal for ages 8 and up, 3-6 players, and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to play.  Twisted Fish is based on the old game of Go Fish, but a little more challenging.  In Twisted Fish, 13 unique Fish characters in five different colors, plus 8 unique “Zingers” that allow you to break the rules, makes the game a unique playing experience.  The real challenge happens when you ask for the fish cards you are collecting.  You have to be specific about the type of fish and color you are seeking.  “Twisted Fish” challenges you to remember every question asked at the table.  They promise that you’ll fall hook, line, and sinker with Twisted Fish!  The game retails for $10.00.

MY THOUGHTS

These are fun games (and educational as well)!  You’ve Been Sentenced is a fun and challenging game and really gets your “dendrites dancing.”  Twisted Fish is a fun twist of “Go Fish” and one that family members will have a blast playing.  Thank you McNeill Designs for great family games and for providing a way for family members to spend quality time with one another – laughing and having a good time!
