My boys really enjoy watching The Backyardigans. I have to admit I love them as well and often find myself singing along in the background – lol! On Tuesday, March 30th, Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment released “Backyardigans: Escape From the Tower
“Backyardigans: Escape From the Tower” has three new-to-DVD episodes. Follow five high-spirited neighbors as they meet in their adjoining backyards and use their imaginations to transform themselves into different locations for fun adventures. Each half-hour episode features a unique music or dance genre with four original songs, along with real choreographed movements shown through animation. “Backyardigans: Escape from the Tower” introduces preschoolers to the music genre of 60’s girl groups, Bhangra and Mariachi, while the Fresh Beat Band episode is themed with Hawaiian Music, including the Hula!

Break Out
Tasha and Uniqua are princess sisters locked up in a tower, but they’re busting out! They have mapped out the escape route and are ready to take action. Austin, the princesses’ magic compact mirror, helps guide them through the elaborate and alarmed floors in the tower. Will the tower guards, Pablo and Tyrone, catch on before the sisters reach freedom? And will high-tech princess couture prove to be all the rage? Music Genre: Early 60’s Girl Group
For the Love Of Socks

The Fresh Beats are having a Luau and they’re playing Hawaiian instruments! Marina’s hands sway whenever she hears Hawaiian music and she can’t play the drums. But the Fresh Beats realize Marina can lead the Hula dance instead!. Music Genre: Hawaiian

MY THOUGHTS
I personally love the Backyardigans and find their episodes fun for young minds. I love the singing and dancing in the episodes. “Backyardigans: Escape from the Tower” was a fun DVD and I found myself singing along or bopping in my seat to many of the songs. My boys enjoyed watching the DVD and wanted to see more after it was over. If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend you pick up a copy for your kids.
