Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. The most popular origami is the paper crane, but there are plenty more origami styles that you can make with your kids. What makes them is that you don’t need any special materials to make them. Any old scrap paper that you will cut into squares will do. However, if you want to go all fancy, you can buy special origami paper at stationery stores. If you want to create your own special paper, Creative Fabrica offers graphic freebies, including patterns that you can then download and print.
Edit short-form videos
If you can’t seem to tear your kids away from their gadget, then teach them how to use it for fun creative pursuits. Why not edit short-form videos with them? Create a story and storyboard together, shoot clips using your phone cameras around the house starring each other, and then put together the video using your phone’s video editing app. Add fun captions and titles by finding a display font from Creative Fabrica’s font section.
Create your custom coloring books
Coloring books are a fun go-to activity if you want something relaxing and creative to do. It can actually be a good stress reliever for both children and adults. If you can’t find a design you like in store, create your own. Get designs, arrange them in an 8.5” x 11” layout on Canva and print them in black and white. If you want to get even more creative, you can look up kid-friendly bookbinding tutorials online.
