The ride there is absolutely stunning, all across the Owlshead Mountains, Furnace Creek, Funeral Mountains and Badwater Basin. Highway 74 (50 miles)

Driving east on Highway 74, from Helmet, California is a trip of a lifetime, since this route is easy and also gorgeous. The start of the route is surrounded by trees of San Bernardino National Forest, and as you drive, you’ll encounter sandy, desert dunes located in Palm Desert. If you’re a fan of arid landscapes and enjoy riding along various altitudes, then Highway 74 is the right place for you.
