Holiday Cookies

I love this time of year! Bright colored lights, decorations, holiday music and cheerful people all around.Throughout the year, our teachers play an instrumental role in the lives of our children. During the holidays, it gives us as parents (and our children) the opportunity to recognize these special individuals. Each year, we try to do something for our children’s teachers. Holiday Gift Ideas for Teachers

Thanks to Voortman Bakery, we received a variety of holiday cookies, including Vanilla Shortbread, Iced Almonette, Assorted Festive Cookies, Snickerdoodle, Gingerbread cookies and Gingerbread wafers. These cookies were both pretty and yummy! They looked perfect in a wrapped holiday plate for our son to give to his teacher.

HISTORY OF VOORTMAN BAKERY

I enjoy learning the history behind brands that I love and Voortman Bakery was one of them! Voortman Cookies began in 1951 when two young Dutch brothers, William and Harry Voortman, opened their first bakery in Hamilton, Ontario. It took five years of dedicated baking and hard work before a Canadian grocery chain agreed to give Voortman Cookies shelf space in their stores!

Even though their name has changed, their commitment to using simple, real ingredients has not. At Voortman Bakery, quality and taste has always been and always will be their top priority From their classic Windmill cookies to their new Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, they’re constantly reinventing what delicious tastes like!

What is your favorite flavor of Voortman Bakery Cookies or Wafers??

  1. Well, I don’t have a particular flavour from Voortman. It’s my first time hearing of them but I am guessing, any flavour will get the job done! No heart can remain stone-cold after receiving a cookie, with love.

  2. I love these ideas. I think our teachers absolutely deserve to be acknowledged for the work they do. Also, I’m so boring. I love their vanilla wafers the best.

  3. Those are all great ideas for holiday gifts for teachers. My dad was a teacher for 32 years, I remember him bringing home gifts during the holidays.

I used to love when my mom made these kinds of baskets for our neighbors and teachers. It really brings the holidays full circle fro me.

  5. This is timely as my son’s Christmas party in school is on Friday and we plan to give out gifts for his teachers. I think a pack of holiday cookies is a great idea. Thank you for sharing this.

  6. I wanted to do something cute and creative for the teachers, but I just ended up giving them a gift card. I really like your idea. Voortman cookies are so yummy. They really do make beautiful holiday cookies. I love the little gingerbread men.
