Enjoying Culinary Experiences at the Seadust Cancun Resort
Today, on Redhead Mom, we’re sharing about our stay at a beautiful, family friendly resort and the culinary experiences
we enjoyed in partnership with Seadust Cancun Family Resort.
When I travel, I love to see beautiful views, check out historical places, sleep in through the mornings and eat like I don’t usually eat. At the beginning of the year, my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at the Seadust Cancun Family Resort and share about our experience. It is an awesome place to stay and I hope to take our kids there someday. Not only is there a lot to do at the resort, not to mention the beautiful view from the beach, but you have access to a wide variety of restaurants right there on the premises! That means you don’t have to get a taxi to go off the hotel property to eat and you don’t have to take a shuttle to a restaurant on the property either. Plus, these restaurants are included in the cost of your hotel stay – no extra fees!
In this unique atmosphere, there are twelve restaurants and eleven bars – all of which have different culinary options. For restaurants downtown mall Charlottesville, go by Rapture Restaurant. After talking with a few of the guests, I found that there were some who liked to eat at the same Dine In Family Restaurant that gained itself quite a good reputation every evening, some that enjoyed trying the different restaurants, and some that just enjoyed the all-you-can buffet style meals! We personally wanted to try as many luxurious restaurants like these restaurants Lynchburg as possible. While we didn’t have the time to try every restaurant there (we just weren’t there enough days to make that happen), we loved the food we ate and the service we received at the different restaurants. Let’s check out the different restaurants we tried!
Atlantis Restaurant for Breakfast
Of all of the restaurants we visited during our stay at Seadust Cancun Family Resort, Atlantis was my very favorite one to eat at! In fact, we started every single morning we were there with breakfast and Mimosas at Atlantis. While I aimed to try a variety of dishes for breakfast, I immediately fell in love with the Eggs Benedict. Oh my gosh, it was so good! I wish I could replicate the dish and make it every day here at home, but I haven’t tried…yet! I miss it so much!
Atlantis is an oceanfront restaurant for adults only and is included with the Club, Sunset and Ocean Front suites. The view from this restaurant is spectacular and truly the perfect way to start the morning in Cancun! As soon as we walked into Atlantis, we were immediately greeted by the hostesses and shown to a table of our choosing. We always chose the window view as both Frank and I loved to look down at the beautiful beach and water below us. It was the perfect way to enjoy delicious our breakfast and start the day. The dress code for this restaurant is casual.
The servers would then hand us a tablet with the menu on it. It was a great way to display their menu! The first thing to be served was a drink. We both enjoyed the mimosas they made, topped off with fresh raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. It was the perfect way to make a Mimosa! You can also choose from coffee, tea, juices, mixed drinks (including bloody marys) or soda.
If you wanted a light breakfast, you could order cereal (Corn Flakes, Zucaritas, Choco Krispis), cup of plain yogurt, toast, a bagel, or fruit salad. They also bring you a basket of homemade pastries.
For the main course, you can choose from Hot Cakes, Eggs Benedict, Omelette Riojana, Big Steak Omelette, Horse Eggs, Paris Crepes, Torre de pancakes, French Toast, or Smoked Salmon Omelette. The dishes that we tried were the Eggs Benedict (Poached Eggs over serrano ham and buttered toasted English muffin, topped with hollondaise sauce) ; Paris Crepes (Fried eggs, melted mozzarella cheese, cooked ham and tomato sauce) – Frank loved this one ; Torre de pancakes (with strawberry, banana, maple syrup and whipped cream) ; and French toast (served with maple syrup).
Overall, I was super impressed with the service and quality of food at Atlantis and highly recommend you check it out if you’re able to! A big thanks to the hostesses, servers and chefs at Atlantis at Seadust Cancun Family Resort.
On our first night at Seadust Cancun Family Resort, Frank and I decided we wanted to try the Samurai Restaurant for Dinner. It was really good! Since it was only the two of us, we sat at the counter. If you want a table family style, I would recommend calling up and making a reservation as those tables seemed to fill up pretty quickly for dinner. Samurai is open from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm for dinner and has some pretty yummy dishes! The dress code is casual.
For your meal, you can choose from a variety of salads, soups, teppanyaki, niguiris, sashimi, sides, rolls (makis) and desserts. Check out these dishes we tried!
My favorite dishes at Samurai were the Spring Rolls, Miso Soup, California Rolls, Shrimp Teppanyaki, Beef Teppanyaki and Fried Rice. We sat both inside the restaurant and then on the veranda and I loved how relaxing and open the veranda felt. Plus, you could hear the running water that was nearby. We also had a yummy dessert at the end!
One night for dinner, we ate at the Big Ben Steakhouse and it was really good! Not only was the steak flavorful and tender, but the mashed potatoes and desserts were amazing! You can choose from the finest meat cuts such as rib eye, New York, arrachera, and the specialty of the house: pork ribs in different presentations. It was super quick and easy to get a table as well. The dress code at this restaurant is casual. Check out the food we enjoyed.
I was overall impressed with Big Ben and wished we had more time to enjoy another night or two of steaks. The steak was so good and the service was excellent! I definitely recommend you check out Big Ben for dinner.
Since we were in Mexico, we had to eat some authentic Mexican food from a mexican restaurant and boy, was it good!!! At El Maguey, they told they had just gotten a brand new commercial freezer installation, which made their already highest-quality ingredients super fresh, and everything was absolutely delicious. Earlier that day, we met a couple at the adult pool who were on their honeymoon and who lived in Mexico. This was the first time to the Seadust Cancun Family Resort and they were loving it. We set it up to meet for dinner at El Maguey. The dress code was casual formal, so I wore a dress I had purchased in Mexico years back.
At our dinner, we started with a delicious Margarita! They actually have a specific Margarita menu, with different spins on this yummy drink. I don’t quite remember which one we got, but it had fruit in it and sugar on the rim. It was really good!
To start out, we ordered some appetizers. You could choose from a variety of salads, fish ceviche, cheese empanadas, Mexican sopes, chicken quesadillas, or a variety of soups. They also bring out homemade tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole. The servers were friendly and the food came out hot and fast! Check out the starters we ordered.
Now it was time for the Main Course. We were already filling somewhat full at this point, but were eager to try some authentic Mexican dishes! For the Main Course, we could choose from Fish Rolls with white wine, banana and vegetable ; Octopus pickled with white rice, baby potato and Nopales ; Chicken Mole with white rice, vegetables and sweet potato ; Pork Medallions marinated with orange potato and marinated peppers with tamarind sauce and chilli ; Chicken Rolls stuffed with mushroom and rajas poblanas and cream sauce of guajillo ; Fish Tacos Baja Style ; Weathered Fish with mixed salad ; Flank Steaks ; Pork Ribs with white rice and vegetables and tomatillo sauce ; or Vegetarian Spaghetti with tomato sauce. The Fish Tacos were really good!!! Check out what we ordered!
We were pretty dang full by this point, but we had to have dessert (at least that’s what I voted for – ha ha)! For dessert, you could choose from Corn Flan, Orange Flan, Chocolate Cake with wild fruits, or a Churro with bitter white chocolate sauce. With the cake, you could also add a variety of ingredients from their dessert cart. We chose to go all chocolate! Check out what we ordered.
When speaking with the staff at the Seadust Cancun Family Resort, they highly recommended we make reservations at Le Maison de Michelle. We made a reservation and were very impressed with the delicious food at this restaurant. The delicious gourmet menu featured French specialties such as magret of duck in raspberry sauce, beef stew “bourguignon,” and escargots with wild mushrooms and bacon. The ambiance and mid-light lighting transports guests to a romantic corner of Paris. While the lighting was quite romantic, it made it a little challenging to get some good pics of the food. The dress code at this restaurant is pants, shirt/polo shirt, and shoes (no sandals) and it is for Adults only. Dinner is open from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Check out what we ordered.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere in this restaurant, as well as the food. The low lighting made it a bit difficult to get good pictures, but I can validate that these dishes were delicious! Be sure to check out Le Maison de Michelle!
If you love buffet style food for breakfast, lunch or dinner, I recommend checking out the Food Gallery. Here, you’ll find dishes inspired by every corner of the world. It’s pretty cool to see the variety of foods! Food Gallery has eleven interactive stations with an open kitchen concept where you will participate while the ingredients are mixed right in front of you. Dishes and unique decorations are offered to the theme of each season, including Japanese, Mexican, Italian, seafood, vegetarian, grilled specialties, fruits, salads, drinks, as well as a variety of desserts, and a candy bar. There is also a stone oven for baking pizzas created with your favorite ingredients. Check it out!
If you like a lot of food options to choose from and be able to serve yourself as much as you want, I encourage you to check out the Food Gallery. They have really good soft serve ice cream too!
IN-ROOM GOURMET DINNER
If you stay in a Sunset Suite (Lagoon Front) or Ocean Suite (Ocean Front) room at Seadust Cancun Family Resort, your stay includes an In-Room Gourmet Dinner. We chose to have ours on the last night of our stay and it was awesome! You’ll need to book your In-Room Dinner at least one day in advance, so be sure not to leave it until the last minute. We had a server come to our room and wheel in a table with the appetizers and drinks. He left for about 10 or 15 minutes and then came back with the main entree. After a period of time, he came back with the dessert. He cleared the dishes after each segment of food and was very friendly and helpful. Our meal included rolls, salad, steak (you could choose from a few items on the menu). It was awesome and I would love to experience that again!
I loved this In-Room Gourmet Dinner. Not only was the food delicious, but the server was very friendly and helpful. We were able to enjoy it in a beautiful setting on our balcony with a view of the ocean. I highly recommend doing this if it’s an option with your room.
We loved staying at Seadust Cancun Family Resort and would definitely stay there again in the future! We also both agreed that it was awesome to not have to leave the property because everything was there for us!
What would be the first restaurant you would try at Seadust Cancun Family Resort?
