I love quality chocolate and am excited to be sharing about this yummy chocolate brand in partnership with Ritter Sport.
If you know me or follow my blog or social media channels, you are most likely aware that I LOVE to eat chocolate! I’ve always been a fan of both milk chocolate and dark chocolate and love learning about new quality chocolate brands. I was recently introduced to Ritter Sport Chocolate and let me tell you – it is DELICIOUS!!!
I had the opportunity to try their new line of single origin chocolates produced from fine, sustainably farmed cacao and I am impressed. The varieties I received included Milk Chocolate with Cornflakes, Milk Chocolate with Honey Salted Almonds, Milk Chocolate with Coconut Filling, Dark Milk Chocolate (Smooth – 55% Cacao), Dark Chocolate (Fine – 61% Cacao), and Dark Chocolate (Intense – 74% Cacao).
Not only did the chocolate taste rich and delicious, but I love the bright colors of the packaging as well! Plus, from this brand comes even more flavors! Ritter Sport is a family owned German producer founded by Clara Ritter in 1912 – making the brand over 100 years old! Many fans know the brand by its iconic square shape. The squares are easy to break off and eat or even use in recipes.
So, what’s the story behind the square? In 1932, Clara Ritter noticed that Waldenbuch football fans liked to pick up a RITTER chocolate on their way to the adjacent sports field. They would stick them in the pockets of their sports jackets, which were quite popular then. However, because the long bars had a tendency to break in their pockets, she came up with a simple, but brilliant idea – chocolate in a square! It’s a little more compact, but has the same weight as a long chocolate bar. And that’s how this success story got its start!
THE VARIETIES
Milk Chocolate with Cornflakes
Ritter Sport Cornflakes are all-day breakfast around the clock with crispy cornflakes in creamy chocolate. The flakes are produced and selected according to strict quality standards: After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Milk Chocolate with Honey Salted Almonds
What does our Honey Salt Almonds have that other chocolate doesn’t? A bit of honey? A touch of salt? Whole almonds? Here’s a clue: All three! It’s the combination of these three ingredients plus RITTER SPORT’s crunchy milk chocolate that makes our Honey Salt Almonds so uniquely delicious.
Milk Chocolate with Coconut Filling
In a break from our usual practice with many other RITTER SPORT varieties, this bar does not contain whole nuts. Instead it has plenty of firm shredded coconut flakes which gives the fine milk cream its especially exotic taste. And let’s be honest: it’s less of a mouthful.
Dark Milk Chocolate (Smooth – 55% Cacao)

From the flavors above I would try the Milk Chocolate with Cornflakes flavor first. If you’re counting all Ritter chocolate though my favorite is the dark chcolate hazelnut flavor. I love how many whole hazelnuts there are in that one!
