3 Everyday Mom Hacks to Simplify My Life as a Busy Mom + GIVEAWAY
Being a mom of six kids makes for a very busy life, but today I am thrilled to be
sharing this blog post with you in a partnered post with Parents’ NewsFEED.
Pregnancy and childbirth are challenging, but are nothing compared to raising those precious little souls we bring into this world. When my husband and I married, we each brought 3 children to the marriage. Our blended family now includes four boys and two girls, which makes for a VERY BUSY life!!!
Quite often I have other parents tell me that our family is like the Brady Bunch (yes, pretty close), but also ask how I do it with that many kids in our home? It isn’t always easy, but I love our family! While I am not a perfect mom, I do the best to take care of our children and ensure that each child is safe, healthy and happy. These 3 everyday mom hacks not only help me be a better mom, but they also help to simplify my life as a busy mom.
1 – Create lists. I’m one of those people who likes to create lists, but LOVES to check items off my list as I go. This is especially great when you have a lot of stuff going on like we do with our big family. It gives me a feeling of accomplishment every time I check one off! You can do it on paper, in a spreadsheet, or even in a note on your phone.
2 – Take some time for yourself. As moms, we do a lot around our homes and for our family members, but to be the best we can be, we need to take some time for ourselves. This time allows us to get rejuvenated – kind of like a tune-up does for a car.
3 – Keep a calendar. I can’t tell you how many times my calendar has saved me from forgetting school activities, bill payment due dates, blog post deadlines and more. I use my phone‘s calendar and often set alerts for the day before, as well as the day of.

What About Store Brand Formula
While I breastfed my babies, I do know a lot of other moms who used formula. Store Brand Formula provides more than just nutrition for babies. Store Brand Formula is nutritionally comparable to nationally advertised brands but costs up to 50% less. It’s called formula for a reason. Infant formula is regulated by the FDA, which means that all ingredients need to meet specific standards- that means that all formula brands contain comparable essential nutrients to make sure baby stays healthy and receives nutrients to grow. I learned a lot when I checked out the Store Brand Formula Health & Nutrition Information.
Be sure to check out the Parents’ NewsFEED page and download the free Store Brand Formula e-book on formula feeding.
You can also get more information by following Store Brand Formula on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

Having family that wants to help out is a great thing, and when my parents have my kids for an overnight, my husband and I go on a date. It is important to take time for us to and I am very grateful we can! Plus, my kids love their grandparents and the time they spend with them!
This isn’t the most environmentally friendly, but I use paper plates sometimes to save time.
We keep a calendar on the refrigerator so we know who has to be where and when.
I keep Clorox disinfectant wipes in every room. When I’m in a room, I quickly wipe counters, remotes, door knobs, etc. It helps battle germs, plus, stays clean.
AA great day starts the night before! I suggest doing as much as you possibly can at night to prepare for the following day.
I used paper plates to save on dishes.
I prepare as much as possible the night before to help the mornings go smoother.
I use homemade and store bought baby food to save time.
Great ideas!
My everyday Mom Hack is to use aluminum foil to get rid if grease.
I pack school lunches the previous night.
I keep a running grocery list on the fridge so I can just add to it when I think of something. My son can also add to it.
i always got everything ready the night before so there was no hunting for clothes books, homework, lunches, shoes or back packs
I used to label my son’s clothing and play items.
I freezer-cook meals during weekend to save time.
Well I’m a busy dad not mom but we do things ahead of time set out clothes etc saves a lot of time
We try to have everything ready the night before for school etc
pre=prepared meals have been a lifesaver
I do meal prep to save time
I make sure my teen knows what he is wearing the next day and even though the eye rolls are annoying I make sure he packs his backpack and that his Ipad is charged, glasses cleaned etc. This saves a lot of anger and yelling in the am. His bus is here before 7 am which does not leave a lot of wiggle room.
Sticky notes! I write myself notes to help stay on track!
Electronic calendar notifications help me maintain a busy schedule and remember what to do when.
I prep a few meals on the weekend to help during the crazy work week.
When traveling with kids I put an entire outfit in a ziploc bag to separate them and keep the outfit together.
I cook meals during the weekend and freeze them to serve during the week.
Meal planning for the month ahead, pre-prepping lunches, and just a lot of pre-planning for events and all the possible bad outcomes.
We do as much prep ahead of time as we can.
I’m the Mom who needs all the hack advice. I will be reading comments! 🙂 🙂
Make my daughters lunch the night before
When I make dinner I try to make two. One to eat that day and one to freeze for another day when life is too busy.
I use preprinted snack labels for my kids lunches
I also use paper plates hurt my back and found it so easy to do I dont have to stand at the sink and wash so many dishes for the family.
Well, I am the single dad raising my 5 kids and one hack I have is to make sure all of my kids have their things all on the table for school the night before. No looking for socks, shoes, backpacks, etc in the mornings.
We like to do the grocery pickup at Walmart to save time.
Use Everyday Household Items for Organization. Re-purposing old household items will help de-clutter and organize your home at the same time 🙂
I like to have a schedule for routine tasks. I always grocery shop every two weeks, do laundry on Saturday, etc. I have reminders for things that occur less frequently, such as changing air filters.
i wish i had a hack to share..my life is pretty chaotic. my suggestion is to keep a planner and to do list to try and keep on top of things.
