5 Ways to Soothe Sore Throats for Kids

This is a partnered post with Lolleez.

‘Tis the time of year for colds, sore throats and allergies. With a family of six, you can imagine how crazy this time of year can get! In our family, we share laughs and memories, as well as colds, sore throats and allergies. When our kids get sore throats, it’s really hard because they want to feel better immediately and as their mama, I want it as well. I want them to feel safe, happy and healthy – not suffer from the yuckyness that comes with colds, sore throats and allergies. If their sore throat gets worse, you may need to consult with an ear nose & throat doctor. Ear, Nose, & Throat Physicians can provide an accurate diagnosis and offer the proper treatment.

These are some great and effective ways to treat sore throats. One that my kids really liked to help soothe their sore throats was Lolleez. Lolleez are organic, worry-free, throat soothing lollipops for kids. What makes Lolleez different are the ingredients – Lolleez are made from USDA Certified Organic ingredients and ingredients you can pronounce and understand, like organic honey and natural fruit pectin. They are also Non-GMO as well as gluten, dairy and nut free.Second, Lolleez are made in a worry-free shape that are flat and on a stick versus a round ball, which is a potential choking hazard. Lastly, Lolleez comes in three delicious kid (and adult) friendly flavors: Watermelon, Strawberry and Orange Mango.  After surveying hundreds of kids, Lolleez founders determined that traditional flavors like cherry and grape have a negative association that is tied to medicines.

Last year, when mom of four and health coach, Melissa Evans’ daughter came down with a sore throat, she wished there was something she could provide to soothe her and put a smile back on her face. That’s when she noticed there were no options that she felt comfortable with. Cough drops and lozenges posed a risk for choking and, for the most part, contained chemicals like artificial colors, flavors and ingredients. She then came up with the idea for a worry-free, healthier and fun alternative for kids.

“Few ailments cause overall unhappiness to both kids and parents like a sore throat. Whether it’s allergies, a cough or a cold, a sore throat is painful. Every time you swallow, it’s there and it hurts,” said Melissa Evans, Lolleez Founder. “There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer, so I’m really excited to be able to offer an organic and worry-free throat remedy that can help soothe both physical (child) and emotional (parent) pain, with the launch of Lolleez.”

Lolleez are available at CVS, Stop & Shop, Target and Amazon. Lolleez come in packs of 15 pops: Watermelon, Strawberry, Orange Mango and a Variety Pack for a suggested retail of $6.99.

Have you tried Lolleez before in your home to help soothe a sore throat?

  1. Whenever I have kids, I am going to do exactly what my mom did for me – throw chicken broth into a pot and boil it with veggies and make him/her drink it!! That is so comforting to me. I remember having food poisoning and she made that for me and BAM I felt so much better! MOM KNOWS BEST!

  2. Nothing worse than your kids getting a sore throat or you or your significant other getting one. It puts a damper on being outdoors doing things. Your tips and suggestion of getting some Lolleez are a welcome thing.

  3. These sound great for soothing sore throats. My granddaughter has pretty bad allergies so I need to find some of these.

  4. These look great for our kids. It’s very difficult having so many kids and their different taste hangups. A sucker sure would help

  5. Lolleez sound super helpful at soothing a sore throat. Even though my girls are teens, I bet they would appreciate having some. They aren’t fans of the icky flavors in adult lozenges, but I bet they would love the Lolleez flavors!

  9. I wish I had some of those right now for my little boy. He’s been sick since yesterday coughing so bad. Thanks for sharing these tips.

  10. I love the idea of the stick. I was always a little worried about my kids swallowing a throat lozenges whole. I hope you manage to get through the season without too much sickness. A big spoonful of honey is always a favorite in our house too.
