From the moment a woman finds out she’s going to be a mother, a wide array of emotions go into effect. There is happiness, excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, fear and the desire to prepare for baby. One of the things many expectant mothers look forward to is the Baby Shower. What a great way to feel the love and support from family and friends, as well as to prepare for the upcoming arrival of your baby. Now, throwing the baby shower is a whole other playing field.

When you’re planning the baby shower, you know how important it is to the mom and you want it to be as special for her as possible. Knowing that, it’s best to prepare for the baby shower. Here are 5 Ways to Prepare for a Baby Shower.

5 Ways to Prepare for a Baby Shower

1 – Establish a baby shower budget. This is the first main factor when planning a baby shower. This will play into the guest list, the location, the menu and decor. If family or friends would like to add to the baby shower budget, be sure to invite them to participate in the planning process.

2 – Set the date. When planning a baby shower, you’ll need to select a date that works for both the expectant mother and you.

3 – Create the guest list. Something that is really important is planning the guest list. If you are paying for the baby shower, be sure to let the mom know what your budget is like (i.e. if you have a budget for 20 guests, be sure to let her know so she doesn’t invite 60 guests). Once you have an idea of what your budget is and how many people is on her guest list, you can select the location.

4 – Select the location. This is something that is definitely heavily dependent on the budget. If you don’t have room in your budget to rent a space in a location, you may consider having the baby shower in your home or the home of the mom-to-be.

5 – Choose your baby shower invitations. The baby shower invitation is not only fun for the guests, but it’s also fun for the mom-to-be. There are so many different brands out there, but one that I recently discovered is called Basic Invite.  At Basic Invite, you’ll find couples baby shower invitationsbaby shower invitations for boys, and baby shower invitations for girls, You can even find the perfect baby shower thank you card at Basic Invite!

Location is so important! I haven’t been to a lot of these myself but my wife has and have heard horror stories about how spaces were too small or unkempt. You don’t want to break the budget at a fancy restaurant but maybe your aunt’s dingy basement isn’t the best place either. In the end though it is all about spending a nice time with family and friends supporting the mother to be.
