Winter is in full swing and here on the Central Coast, it’s usually not too harsh compared to other places. However, the other day we did have a cold spell and it got down to 41°F at night (plus add in the wind chill factor), which is pretty dang cold for us Californians! With the cold weather comes hot chocolate, cute sweaters and blankets to cuddle up with. But also with the cold weather comes dry and chapped hands. Add to that the fact that I wash my hands a lot and that’s spelling disaster for my poor hands!

In preparation for the colder months ahead, I look for ways to keep my skin hydrated, protecting it from the harsh, damaging weather. It could be as simple as wearing gloves when going out into the cold weather to carrying a tube of hand cream in my purse. I even like to have a tube of hand cream in the car, just in case. I recently discovered Neutrogena® Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream, which is amazing. It is so richly hydrating and leaves my hands soft and so smooth! Not to mention the fact that it prevents dry and chapped skin, providing lasting relief up to 17 hours!

The Neutrogena® Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream even eliminates the 7 signs of damage, including dryness, chapping, cracking, split nails, dry cuticles, scaliness, and roughness. It also repairs skin‘s natural moisture barrier to keep hands and cuticles softer and smoother for a longer period of time.

If you suffer from dry, chapped hands, you should definitely check out Neutrogena® Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream as it provides prompt healing for hands that suffer even the harshest of conditions. In fact, this hand cream was originally developed in Norway for Arctic fishermen who needed to protect their own hands from some of the coldest and harshest weather on earth. That very same formula used to protect the hands of fisherman now keeps our manicured hands looking beautiful!

4 Ways to Prevent Dry, Chapped Skin

1 – Wear gloves. “Hands are more susceptible to dryness since it’s cold outside and most people don’t wear their gloves before they go outside. We always encourage people to put on gloves before they step outside.” – Dr. Debra Jalima

2 – Use a humidifier. “Moreover, indoor heating dries out the skin, so its essential to use a humidifier. Frequent hand washing contributes to dry skin since most people use antibacterial soap or fragrance soap, which takes natural oils out of the skin. Also, hot water pulls essential moisture out of the skin.” – Dr. Debra Jalima

3 – Moisturize and protect. “It’s best to moisturize your hands when you get up in the morning, after you shower, every time you wash your hands, as well as before bed. Use lukewarm water, don’t use steaming hot water. Using gloves when washing dishes also helps.” – Dr. Debra Jaliman

4 – Prevent and Treat Dry, Chapped Hands – “Choose a super-fatting moisturizing soap. When choosing a hand cream, you can look for glycerin, ceramides or hyaluronic acid.” – Dr. Debra Jalima

I recommend you pick up a tube of Neutrogena® Norwegian Formula® Hand Cream and keep one in your purse or car, so you always have it on hand to prevent dry, chapped skin. A big thanks to Neutrogena for developing an amazing product to protect and keep my skin beautiful!

The two things I hate about winter besides the dark so early and the cold is how dry and chapped my hands get and the stactic, constantly shocking people and myself and my hair standing up.

I really like their products. They work well, and arent greasy. I wash my hand a whole lot and in the winter this stuff is a lifesaver.
