Frank and I love to go to the movies – and try to go as often as we can – with and without kids! We’ve seen the previews for Daddy’s Home and it was one we both agreed we wanted to see in the movie theater. So over the holidays, we headed to the movies for a date night and saw Daddy’s Home. It was really funny! I was entertained throughout the entire movie and didn’t experience any “slow” moments (you know those moments when you’re checking your clock to see how much longer is left in the movie).
Will Ferrell stars as Brad Taggart, a mild-mannered everyman whose only goal in life is to be a good stepdad to the two kids of his wife Sarah (Linda Cardellini). Just when he thinks he’s finally won them over, Sarah’s supercool ex-husband and the biological father of her children, Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg), comes back into the picture, determined to usurp Brad’s standing as the favorite dad. These two polar opposites soon get caught up in a competition to win the hearts of the family they both love, but their rivalry quickly escalates out of control. Directed by Sean Anders. Thomas Haden Church, Scarlett Estevez, and Owen Vaccaro co-star.
Will Ferrell stars as Brad (the stepdad) and Mark Wahlberg stars as Dusty (the long, lost dad). I love Will Ferrell because he is not only great at super cheesy roles (i.e. Elf and Old School), but does a great job again as a father figure – this time the stepdad! Dusty was pretty funny too…and ladies, you won’t be sorry you missed him in this movie because he gives us quite a bit of eye candy (hee hee)!
So be sure to pick up your ticket through Fandango and enjoy Daddy’s Home with some popcorn, candy and soda. You won’t regret this movie from Paramount Pictures and Red Granite Pictures!
