This summer, Frank and I had the opportunity to enjoy a weekend getaway to San Francisco sans kids.  I hadn’t been to Downtown San Francisco in a long time, so I was really excited to spend time with the man I love doing some fun things in the city.  We checked out Fisherman’s Wharf, Ride the Ducks and Chinatown, as well as enjoyed some yummy food and stayed in a comfortable hotel.  We made our reservations at the Comfort Inn By the Bay Hotel (Choice Hotels) and were really impressed with the accommodations we received there.

We passed the hotel the first time because we didn’t realize there was a garage to pull into so we could check in.  It was super easy to get there again though – we just went around the block.  So we pulled up to the speaker box and told them we were checking in and they opened the garage gate.  We then pulled into a registration parking spot and headed up to the main level to check in.  Once checked in, we parked in the regular parking area in the garage.  When we got to the room, it took a minute to figure out how to open the door.  We had to insert the key into the door and then when the green light came on, we were good to open the door.  When we entered the room, I noticed the pretty view out the window.  Our room was clean and we had a great view of the city by the bay.  The bed was big and comfortable.  Plus, we had a nice flat-screen television to watch our shows during some downtime.

Comfort Inn By the Bay was a great hotel to stay in and I would definitely consider staying there again!  The view was great, the room was comfortable and the customer service was good.  A big thank you to Comfort Inn By the Bay in San Francisco for a great place to stay in San Francisco!

Have you stayed at the Comfort Inn By the Bay in San Francisco before?  What is one thing you must have in your hotel room (i.e. comfortable bed, air conditioning, good view, etc)?

Sounds like a nice place to stay. The only time I have ever been in San Fran was for a layover. I am dying to get back to actually check out the city.

    1. That is so the truth! I lived in a Motel 6 for a couple months after the condo I was renting went into foreclosure and was waiting to get into a new place and it was horrible. I hated that place.

  2. I love the Comfort Inn chain. They are nice hotels. I like the actual key they have now. I always lose the key card when I’m out and about. Ooops

  3. It’s so much fun to stay in San Francisco. The fog makes the rooms a little chilly, so I enjoy having a heater that actually works in each room and an extra blanket. Three cheers for Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown!

  4. I’m not much of a city person but my husband and I both love San Francisco. It’s so easy to get around without a car and there is never a shortage of things to see and do. And the food … the food is out of this world!
