It’s been a few weeks since I published a Wedding Wednesday post, but I’m back!  If you follow my blog, you know about the Thanksgiving Proposal and My Saying Yes to the Dress.  Now I’m excited to share with you our gorgeous Bridesmaids dresses we chose for our wedding.

Over the past few months, I looked at a lot of Bridesmaids dresses – both online and in wedding magazines.  Frank and I knew we wanted the color of Marine for the dresses and I kept wandering back to the strapless style.  I had a few styles from David’s Bridal pinned on our Wedding Pinterest Board, but really wanted to see what they would like in real life.  We were all excited to go try them on and see what they looked like in real life.  So we looked through the racks and grabbed a few different styles of strapless dresses, including the ones I really liked online.

The first dress the girls tried on was the dress I wanted them to wear to our wedding.  However, the dress looked surprisingly different on them.  The cut was pretty, but the fabric was rather thin.  The dress wasn’t an immediate “yes” for anyone, so it was time to check out some more of the strapless dresses.

The second dress we all really loved.  I loved how elegant it looked and the Satin material made everyone feel really beautiful and comfortable.  It was even commented by one of my bridesmaids that she felt like a princess with the dress on.  That’s always a good feeling, right ladies?

Even though we all really loved this dress, they wanted to try on a few other dresses.  I was totally ok with that because I was having a blast watching the Bridesmaids Fashion Show!  The next dress was definitely an interesting and definitely a “NO!”  There was something funky about the slip underneath and I just really didn’t like the cut or style of the dress.  The girls had fun with it though!

Caroline had grabbed another strapless dress for fun.  It was pretty on her, but it kind of reminded me of cut up drapes.  This dress was a no-go.  We were on to see more dresses!

The next dress was definitely very pretty, but kind of had a “Gone with the Wind” feel to it.  This was very different than the feel of my actual wedding gown.  Oooh I can’t wait to show all of you!  Only 373 days to go!  Ha ha!

We all really loved the dress with the side broach, but wanted to see what it looked like with some bling on the front.  So the customer service rep found a sash in marine blue with some bling on it.  They tried it on and we all loved it!!!  The plan is to take the broach off the side and replace it with the blingy sash.  They are going to look gorgeous on our wedding day!

  1. I had the best time shopping for dresses with my bridesmaids. We walked into a lovely store, they served us champagne and the first dress the girls picked up we all said, “Yep – this is it!” One of the best days of my life!

  2. Those are some lovely bridesmaid dress selections! I went the non-traditional route at my wedding and didn’t have bridesmaids but I know I would have loved dress shopping if I did! I think the blingy sashes are going to look gorgeous with those dresses!

  3. They’re all gorgeous dresses. I actually love the first one! For my brother’s wedding, I had to pick out my own dress in a grey/silver color. I went to like 40 stores before finding one I liked. Bridesmaid dresses are hard to pick out, lol! You all did a great job!
