One of my favorite fruits growing up were the California Mandarins that were small, sweet, seedless and easy to peel.  These beautiful orange fruits are also enjoyed by everyone in our home.  So, when I was invited to come up with a crafty idea involving these delicious mandarins, I jumped at the opportunity.  I had so much fun searching Google for different Holiday Mandarin Orange ideas, but when all was said and done, I came up with my very own idea.  I created a Holiday Centerpiece using the Halos Mandarin Oranges.

The first step to creating your Holiday Centerpiece is to pick up a box (or bag) of Halos Mandarin Oranges at your local grocery store.  I found it both at our local grocery store (Vons), as well as our big box store (Costco).  Both places had fabulous deals on the Halos Oranges, but I have to admit the display at Costco really caught my attention (as well as other shoppers around me).  I should also mention that a bag of these delicious, easy-peel Mandarin Oranges were less than $5!  That’s a great deal for a big family like ours!

Once you have your Halos Mandarin Oranges, you’ll need a basket (I used a holiday-themed one), as well as some pine tree sprigs and pinecones.  You can use either artificial or real pine tree sprigs and pinecones.  I chose to use the artificial ones.  Organize your centerpiece so that the Halos Mandarin Oranges are in the center and the pine sprigs and pinecones are surrounding them.  Set it out in the middle of a table with a red tablecloth and you are all set with your quick and easy DIY Holiday Centerpiece!  Plus, you can even snack on the centerpiece during the event.  Enjoy!
