Can you believe that the Back-to-School Season is already here? I can’t! With the Back-to-School Season here, it’s time to go shopping for school supplies and clothes for our 6 kids. With a big family, we want clothes that are fashionable, reliable and affordable. That’s why we head to Old Navy for a lot of our family’s clothing needs!
My family and I were recently invited to participate in the Old Navy Multiply Your Style: Kids Rockin’ Runway Fashion Show. It took place on Saturday, August 3rd on the 3rd Street Promenade (between Wilshire and Arizona St) in Santa Monica, California. We didn’t event tell the kids until we were almost there. When we got there, we checked in and each of the kids received a swag bag, which contained a $20 voucher to go shopping at Old Navy and apply to any clothing item(s). In addition to the swag bag, our kids received a bracelet to wear – one of them of which had a star that allowed them to participate in a very special Meet & Greet at the event (they didn’t know about it yet). After checking in, it was time to go shopping!
I love shopping at Old Navy because there are so many cute outfits for great prices! We had a lot of fun wandering the store in search for a back-to-school outfit for each of the kids. For Ian, we found a pair of jeans, flannel shirt and tie and then for Teah and Corrine, we found each a pair of shorts and a shirt. Then each one got to choose a backpack for school. Once they tried on their clothes, it was time to pay and then head out to the runway for the Fashion Show.
When we were waiting in line, I asked Corrine if she knew who Sam and Cat were. She said yes and then told me they were from a tv show called “Sam and Cat” on Nickelodeon. Then I told her that after they walked on the stage, they were going to meet Sam and Cat and take a picture with them. All of a sudden, her eyes got big with excitement and she grinned from ear to ear. She was way excited!
Now, keep in mind that the Kids Rockin’ Runway Fashion Show wasn’t like your typical fashion show – it was way more fun! The Kids Rockin’ Runway Fashion Show was designed for ages 5-11 and everyone was invited to participate. The event was hosted by Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande from Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat and was a ton of fun for the kids! Before walking down the runway, the kids got to go through a series of obstacles, including slides, water spray, and more. Then they had the opportunity to dance on stage! We had a great time and it was definitely something we would do again!
