Support Breast Cancer and Sleep Pink
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our friends at Estroven have given us at The Mommy-Files the opportunity to host a Sleep Pink-themed party! Estroven, is safe multi-symptom menopause relief solution, invited us to band together with other women during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by “Sleeping Pink” – and hosting pink-themed get-togethers – to raise much needed funds for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer series, a project of the Avon Foundation for Women that supports finding a cure for breast cancer and advancing access to care for all.
Did you know that every three minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in this country, creating an abundant need to do more to find a cure? I had no idea that breast cancer affected so many of my sisters in the United States. As women, we talk about our relationships, our birthing experiences, and more. So why not talk to one another about breast cancer and how to go about preventing it?
I had a small get-together with some girlfriends for our Sleep Pink Party. There were pink roses, cupcakes with pink sprinkles, food, and socializing. Each of the women left with some pretty pink roses. If I had the supplies, I would have had us paint Breast Cancer-themed paintings, like I did when I attended the Find Your Fit with Lee Event recently. It’s a great idea for anyone looking to hold a Sleep Pink-themed party in the future.
During the month of October, Estroven is providing women with the necessary tools to host a Sleep Pink-themed party on SleepPink.com. The site will allow party hosts to upload photographs of their events, and for every photo, the company will pledge $100 to benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It will also provide information to help organize the Sleep Pink parties including downloadable invitations, menopause-friendly drink and food recipe suggestions, as well as decor and entertainment ideas.

I’ve gotta say, I’m impressed that you see awareness being spread all over. The NFL, which is one of the more “manly” sports, has done an awesome job having players wearing pink gear.
