Eucerin Skin First July Summer Giveaway

For the past year, I have had the opportunity to spread the important message of skin healthy through the Eucerin Skin First Movement.  I have learned a lot through my participation in this campaign.  Now that it’s the summertime, everyone is spending more time outdoors.  So, it’s especially important that we take the pledge to take care of our skin and keep it healthy!

I had no idea that July is National Blueberry Month until I participated in this campaign!  We love blueberries!  Did you know that this delicious fruit is a great source of antioxidants, which are important for your skin and other vital organs?  In addition to helping protect your skin from the sun by using an SPF, avoiding the mid day sun, and wearing protective clothing, there are many other ways to proactively keep your skin healthy.  Eating right, exercising and getting enough sleep also help promote healthy skin.  Since your skin is the barrier for all of your other organs and the body’s first line of defense, it makes sense that you should feed it the proper nutrients.

If you’re going to be going to a cookout or any type of summer event, consider bringing a bowl of fresh blueberries as a dessert.  Not only are they delicious, but they’re rick in antioxidants, substances known to fight free radicals that can wreak havoc on the skin.  In addition, don’t forget to pack Eucerin’s Everyday Protection Face SPF 30 and Body SPF 15 Lotions.  They are great options for everyday use and are lightweight.

If you really want to indulge, here is a delicious blueberry pie recipe from Better Homes and Gardens that you can prepare in just one hour this summer:

  • In a medium saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  • Stir in water and 1 cup of the blueberries.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in remaining 2 cups blueberries and butter until butter is melted.
  • Cool completely. Pour into prepared pie shell.
  • If desired, cover and chill in refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve with whipped cream. Makes 8 servings.

  1. I plan on wearing sunscreen when I go out in the sun this July. I also use a daily moisturizer at night.

  2. I have to be very careful in the sun so this July I’m going to be better at applying an SPF >50, wear large hats when working out side, and closely monitor my skin. I’ve already been stupid and burned my shoulders. My dermatologist was not pleased with me.

  3. I’ll remember to wear sunscreen as well as extra protection with a big floppy straw hat and oversized sunglasses!

  4. Lots of sunscreen and stay out of the sun as much as possible between 10am and 3pm.

I plan to use lotion each night before I go to bed, and sunscreen during the day when I am out and about!

  6. I do use sunscreen(SPF30 or more) whenever I know I will be outside but I tend not to spend a lot of time in the sun ant time of year due to my fair skin and a past bout with skin cancer.

  7. I wear sunscreen if I’m going to be outside for awhile! I usually put lotion on after showering, too.

  9. I plan to nourish my skin with lots of Euricern Aquafer (I have dry skin and eczema and this works great for it), along with lots of moisturizing sunscreen.

  10. I never go out without sunscreen and a floppy hat and I won’t go to the pool unless there’s a seat in the shade.

  11. I will avoid the sun, especially during midday, and use sunscreen when I know that I’ll be out in the sun. I will take cool/warm showers, not hot showers and apply lotion immediately afterwards.

  12. I actually need more moisturizing in the winter. My skin is actually oilier in the summer. Normally, I moisturize from head to toes immediately after coming out of the shower.

  19. The best way for my to keep my skin nourished and healthy is to drink tons of water, especially before going out in the sun, wearing a moisturizing sunscreen, and wearing a hat to keep out as many of the sun’s rays as I can, especially on my face. Thanks!

  20. I use sunscreen and sit in the shade. I also use a very very light moisturizer every morning after my shower. It’s so hot and humid, if I just use a generic lotion, it makes me sweat the lotion off and my skin feels slimy and gross!
