Wilton Mom ReTreat June 2011

I am so stoked to be in the beautiful city of Chicago again for my 3rd Wilton Mom ReTreat!  I love Wilton products, but I also really love the team.  When I see the other Wilton Mom Ambassadors and Wilton Team it’s like a family reunion.  We have great conversations about our personal lives as well as the way we incorporate Wilton products into our every day lives.  I was really excited to make it to this event because I was not able to attend the last event.  I feel like I take away a lot of knowledge about baking, cake decorating, cookie decorating, and candy making when I attend these events.

Tomorrow, we will have a chance to check out the infamous Wilton Tent Sale!  We are a little more than excited to check it out.  The Wilton Tent Sale happens once a year and dedicated bakers come from all over the country to purchase amazing products at amazing prices!

For this ReTreat, I left very early.  I was up at 3:30 in the morning and had a friend drive me to the airport at 5:00 in the morning.  My flight left San Luis Obispo at 6:20 a.m. via U.S. Airways.  We departed from Phoenix, Arizona and headed to Chicago, Illinois.  This was the first time that I experienced in-flight wi-fi and it was awesome!!!  I have to say that I am very impressed with U.S. Airways and will definitely be using them in the future.

At the airport, I met up with Emilie from Baby Loving Mama.  We ate lunch and awaited the arrival of Jennifer from Momma D and Da Boyz.  We were then picked up by Mario, our favorite limo driver, and headed to the hotel.  I was excited to see Tanya from Mommy Goggles and Jenn from Mom Spotted.  I entered my hotel room and found a box of cookies with The Mommy-Files logo on them.  They looked awesome and tasted super good as well!

After about an hour of resting, we headed to the home of the Marketing Director and had a super yummy dinner!  Included in dinner was yummy pasta, hot dogs (to make Chicago style), salad, and the most delicious Chocolate Cake I’ve had in a really long time.  It was a fun night of food, socializing, and fun.  I look forward to what the next few days hold in store for us.

I received no compensation for this post.  However, travel and accommodations were provided by Wilton for this ReTreat.  All opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.

  1. I would love to get to the Tent sale, hoping my sis and I still will! And, are you speaking of Portillo’s Chocolate cake? That is the BEST cake I’ve ever had, we used to live seconds from Portillos and when I was pregnant I craved it, I felt like I should take stock in it, lol! Hope you enjoy the nice weather here, Summer finally arrived a few days ago, hope it stays this time! : )
