“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack Giveaway

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is another favorite movie of mine!  I watched it for the first time with my stepmom…who introduced us to most of the musicals I now love.  After watching the movie, I find myself walking around the house, singing “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”  Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was released on Blu-ray for the first time on November 2nd by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.  The Combo Pack can be purchased in stores and online, retailing for $34.99.

SYNOPSIS:

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls – start your engines.  You’re about to take an incredible ride with one of the most wonderful family films of all time!  With its clever tunes (including the OSCAR-Nominated title song), marvelous cast and enchanting storyline, this delightful romp is lots of fun and simply “toot sweet” to pass up!  Dick Van Dyke stars as eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, who creates an extraordinary car called Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  It not only drives – but also flies and floats – as it leads him, his two children and his beautiful lady friend, Truly Scrumptious (Sally Ann Howes), into a magical world of pirates, castles and endless adventure.

  1. What a fun movie … and what a shame they don’t make such great family movies anynmore! I love the title song … it always makes me smile!

  2. I know I saw this movie as a kid, but I hardly remember it! I’d love to introduce it to my kids though – they like Mary Poppins so they’d probably like this too!

  3. I can remember going to the movies to see it as a kid, but havent seen it in years. I don’t think my kids (now teens) have ever seen this movie. Thanks for the review and giveaway!

  4. I remember watching it with Mom, and she gave me a whistle hard candy after. I don’t remember what the brand was, but it looked just like the Toot Sweets! I went around singing and whistling until the sugar disolved the treat (probably to Mom’s relief!)

  5. I love this movie as a kid {and i still do}! My grandfather has it on VHS tape and my sister and two of our cousins would watch it EVERY time we visited out grandparents! I loved all the songs…I have the Toot Sweet song going through my head right now!

    Thanks for the chance!

  6. I actually saw this first as an adult watching with my grandkids and as an adult I found it extremely kid-friendly and I myself enjoyed it immensely. It was a fun film with alot of original ideas and carried out in a light and happy manner. Thanks for a great giveaway.

  8. I loved watching Dick Van Dyke and still remember most of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song. It was a great family movie.

  9. I don’t know which I loved better, singing along with the movie or wishing I had the outfits they put on Truly Scrumptious! I love Dick Van Dyke in anything, but especially this and Mary Poppins!

  10. I just remember watching this movie with my brother when we were little, would love to share it with my son now!

  11. I haven’t seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in many years, but as a child it was definitely a favorite. I remember the Child Catcher was very scary. I can still sing the entire theme song. My grandfather had a couple die-cast replicas of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car that I used to play with. The wings folded out of the sides and I would pretend to fly it all around the house. Thank you for the great give-away.

  12. I haven’t seen this movie in a really long time, I just barely remember watching it with my sister when I was very young.

  13. LOL…when my daughter was little, she had trouble pronouncing her CH’s… they came out as SH’s. Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang never sounded the same after that.

  14. I have never seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! but my sister has and she loves it. I’d love win this for her. Thanks for the chance.

  15. I went to this with my mom and started singing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as loud and as off key as a little girl can. I remember my mom slowly sinking into the movie theater chair!

  16. I remember watching this with my whole family when I was young.I want to relive that with my own 4 children. Thanks!

  17. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was right there alongside The Wizard of Oz in our family – we watched both every year when they came on tv. And we would actually all gather and watch together, there were very few things that we watched together and these two movies were two of them.

  18. I remember watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the first time when I was really little and it was right after my parents had drilled into us that you never take candy from strangers or talk to strangers…so when the kids did that, I just couldn’t get over it and kept telling my Mom that they shouldn’t have done that

  19. When I was little, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was one of those special movies that I always watched every year. My husband bought the DVD a couple of years ago, and we have both enjoyed watching and singing along. Dick Van Dyke thinks he’s not a dancer, but I would argue that point, because he’s terrific, especially in the “Old Bamboo” song at the fair. If I win, we’ll send this up to my in-laws, because they’d really enjoy it, too.

  20. Thanks for the giveaway…my sister loved the soundtrack, and played it just to annoy me when I was a kid; I promptly started substituting obscene lyrics and sang along !
