Gooseberry Patch Keepsake Cookbook Giveaway

With the holidays just around the corner, there are parties to go to, get togethers to host, and recipes to prepare and serve.  The Gooseberry Patch Keepsake Cookbook is a great resource when it comes to preparing holiday recipes for family and friends.  The cookbook would even make a fantastic gift for a friend or loved one!  200 time-tested, classic family recipes are separated into the following categories: (1) Munchies & More, (2) Company’s Coming, (3) Fast Family Suppers, (4) Breakfast & Brunches, (5) Savory Sides & Salads, (6) Soups & Sandwiches, (7) Bountiful Breads, (8) Blue Ribbon Desserts, and (9) Gifts from the Kitchen.  Plus, you can add your favorite recipes on recipe pages in the back of the cookbook!

The Gooseberry Patch Keepsake Cookbook speaks to the culinary sandwich generation – readers who grew up with the recipes of our moms and grandmothers, foods like chicken pot pie and mac and cheese, and today are creating new family food traditions with foods like quiches and fajitas that weren’t on the menu a generation ago.  The Keepsake Cookbook spans the generations with classic and contemporary recipes collected from the Gooseberry Patch online community.

The Keepsake Cookbook is a must-have for every kitchen.  The perfect gift for a shower, wedding, holiday, college graduation, or new home, the cookbook presents everyday, weekend, and special occasion tried and true recipes in an easy-to-use format.  Photos, tips, and quotes bring each recipe to life, as if the recipe contributor was in the kitchen sharing stories.  Each recipe is introduced with a banner heading that calls out a suggested use: make-ahead, kid-friendly, suitable for feeding a crowd, quick and easy, holiday, or slow cooker.  The Keepsake Cookbook includes 50 blank pages for adding personal recipes to create a family heirloom that can be handed down from generation to generation.

The vibrant on-line Gooseberry Patch community, fostered by Gooseberry co-founders Jo Ann Martin and Vickie Hutchins, contributed their most treasured recipes for the Keepsake Cookbook.  From standards like Easy Chicken Pot Pie and Red Velvet Cake to contemporary dishes such as Fiesta Beef Fajitas and Roasted Veggie Panini, the recipes define today’s American home-cooking.  With almost half of Americans eating dinner at home every night, a book with classic straightforward recipes for feeding a family is the staple of every cookbook shelf.

Jo Ann and Vickie started Gooseberry Patch in 1984 as a mail order business.  They put recipes into their catalog to add interest and found that customers not only held onto the catalogs but also contributed their own treasured recipes.  Early pioneers of social media, Jo Ann and Vickie connected with their community to build their business.  A successful cookbook business was born, with over 200 cookbooks featuring hand-picked, family-friendly recipes.   Today, Gooseberry Patch is serving its third generation of customers, with tens of thousands of followers on Facebook, YouTube, Gooseberry Patch’s blog and Twitter.

  9. Required Entry:

My “family” recipe pretty much originates with me as we haven’t had alot of “prized” family recipes passed down; but it is our Apple Dumpling recipe.

My grandma also has a great Chocolate Cookie recipe that I will pass down through my family.

My favorite family recipe is pot roast made with cream of mushroom soup, onions, celery, potatoes, carrots, and of course browned roast.
