Monday Mingle’s are so much fun and were started by Jen at Eighty MPH Mom! It gives bloggers a chance to VLOG and answer fun questions about our lives and experiences we’ve had.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTIONS (submitted by Erin from Mrs. Cox’s Slice o’ Heaven!):

1. If you had the financial ability to donate $100,000 to a charity, which would it be and why?
2. Have you given money to a panhandler before?
3. Have you ever given your time at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, etc. ?

There are a ton of great charities out there – seems like you covered a wide variety – I should have thought about splitting my imaginary money up!

    Have a great week!

I think I will donate that money to Esperanza Health Center. This is were I work, and, we are misionaries on the medical field. I am not a doctor, but, I been working on the medical field as a medical assistant, billing, etc… for 18 yrs. We are a not profit christian organization. Esperanza is devoted to serve God and help does who are in need of medical care and espiritual help as well.

    2. Have you given money to a panhandler before?
    No

    3. Have you ever given your time at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, etc. ?
    Yes

You hit the nail on the head, sometimes charity work is dangerous and scary. That’s why I’d rather give money to a trusted organization and let them handle it. Have a good week.

  4. Cool that you got to help out and hand out sandwiches…
Cancer research–That’s what I’d do too.
Thanks for mingling..and you got the RIGHT questions this week!! LOL.
I though you were just using questions you hadn’t answered yet cause you were behind…LOL. 🙂

    Have a super week!

I totally didn’t even think about splitting up my money, I guess I thought it’d do more good in one lump sum but that said it is a TON of money!

Cancer charities are a great pick, we love Saint Jude in our house!

Charity work can be scary, I got peeved when I was told by a homeless man that he didn’t want the food at the shelter because i’d “touched it” ! It didn’t quite give the warm fuzzy feeling I thought it would LOL

  6. It’s so great to see you in these Monday Mingles.

I did that in high school too! Exact same thing… handing out sandwiches on skid row… very scary. But it did feel good to try and help.

I also couldn’t get my kids to stay quiet for my video so I had them join in.

  7. Mrs. Cox says:

Hi to both of you! It would be hard to choose just one – I couldn’t pick just one and it was my question! LOL
I’d be scared if I saw a knife pulled too! My gosh. 🙁 Glad to see you! Have a great week!

  8. It is so hard to decide just one charity to give to, isn’t it!
I think I would feel pretty uncomfortable handing out stuff in a neighborhood like that as well. But good for you for doing it!
Hope you are having a wonderful week. 🙂
