GoodNites Bedtime Theater Giveaway

Potty training is a long process but rewarding in the end.  As our young ones learn to go potty during the day, accidents can happen at night.  That’s where GoodNites come in handy.  GoodNites are disposable sleep pants for kids who wet the bed.  GoodNites has sponsored a Bedtime Theater for kids and their families.

What is Bedtime Theater?  It is a series of 20 audio stories that follow the story of a boy named Iggy as he embarks on wild adventures with his Wiggy Bed, building self-confidence along the way.  The stories give families a great opportunity spend time together before bedtime and wind down at the end of the day.  You can download stories for free at www.BedtimeTheater.com

Plus, through April 15th, 2010, families are encouraged to visit BedtimeTheater.com to enter the Iggy’s Next Adventure contest by creating and sharing their own adventure for Iggy for a chance to win $2,500!  This ends April 15th, so check it out now!

MY THOUGHTS

I think this is a great way to spend time as a family in the evenings.  I like to read to my boys in the evening before they go to bed.  Iggy’s adventures are cute and enjoyable and look forward to seeing what adventure wins the big contest!

  1. We always have story time (she gets to choose the book), bath time, and prayer time before our toddler heads off to bed.

  2. Bathtime, story, prayer, tucked into bed. I guess the only special thing is that my husband does the night time routine for our older 2 and I handle bedtime for the baby.

  3. For me, I get on my PJs, brush my teeth, go potty :). take my birth control, say my prayers, read, and go to sleep 🙂 For my kiddos it is bathtime, brush teeth, storytime, prayers, bedtime!! All is a days work–LOL!!

  4. When my kids were younger, we always read book after book until they were sleepy and of course they could not go to sleep until until they got a good night kiss.

  5. With my son and I, I get him into the shower every evening, this seems to slow him down a bit and then it’s 20 minutes of reading to make him sleepy. Seems to work for us!

  6. we take our baths, play for a little bit, brush our teeth and read a few stories. my daughter has gotten in the habit of wanting a song or two sung as well

  7. not necesarily because it changes but bath, brush teeth, sometimes read books, sometimes sing songs

  8. My bedtime routine with my son is he covers himself and his stuffed animals with one of the 2 of his Star Wars blankets then I cover him with his Star Wars sheet and comforter and another blanket then I give him a goodnight kiss and tell him goodnight sleep tight sweet dreams .

  9. Since I was a little girl the bedtime ritual has been the same, take a bath, get in bed, cuddle up with Mom and dad, read a book. It was that way when I was a kid, I continued the tradition with my own kid.

  10. Yes, we like to get the kids to bed before we turn in, and I make sure all the doors are locked and backpacks are packed and lunches are prepped.

  11. I give baby a bottle after giving her a bubble bath and rock her to sleep and then start getting older ones ready for bed with showers and let them read a book before bed or listen to an audio book together

  12. I don’t really have any bedtime routines for myself but I do for my daughter. When it’s close to her bedtime it’s a bath/book time for her and then we lay and cuddle for a little before I take her upstairs.

  13. No kids yet so no bedtime routines, but I want to have a couple of minutes before we go to bed that my kids can say anything they want without anyone else getting mad. That way they wake up happy!!

  14. My little girl always gets a bath then she gets to pick out her own book and I read tuk her in and she is asleep as soon as the light goes out!

  15. ooh, I want it. when the kids were very young, we sang bedtime songs, now we tuck them in and tell them to sleep. 😉

  16. My daughters are older now, but when they were young, we’d brush their teeth, wash up and then read a bedtime story…or two…or three! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  17. Our bedtime routine is now reading a chapter or two out of a chapter book together (hows she’s grown 🙁 ) and making sure she has her water and a kiss. That’s about it now. It’s not like it used to be

  18. We read together, the two youngest have a bath, we brush teeth and then my husband tucks the little guys into bed while the older two get there on their own. Thanks for the giveaway.

  19. Our bedtime routine consists of reading a book together and hugs and kisses and I love you’s every night.

  20. We have a pretty basic routine. Bath, brush teeth, and then dad reads a chapter to each child and sings a song and says prayers.

  21. Our bedtime routine is the same very night – bath, books and bed (and I ALWAYS say “Night Night, Sleep Tight Don’t let the bed-bugs bite, Sweet Dreams, I Love You!” to both boys and they say it back). They get very upset if my husband is putting them to bed and doesn’t say the whole thing word for word LOL.

  22. my bedtime routine basically consists of taking the pup out for a potty break and then reading at least one chapter of a book.

  23. I read both kids a book. They share a room, so I put the younger one to bed first and spend some time with the older child and then she goes to bed.

  24. Salleefur/Jesslyn

I do have a routine and it’s not particularly relaxing! :

    Take medication
    Feed Cats
    Set up coffee
Wash and moisturize face and brush teeth
    Check windows and door locks
    Turn off lights
    Kiss honey/hubby goodnight!

  25. Our bedtime routine with the kids include teeth brushing, reading a couple of books each, singing bedtime songs and bedtime prayer.

  26. We read a story, look out the window and say goodnight to the moon, stars, dogs, neighbors, owls, ect and the end we say God Bless each and everyone. Then we pray and I tuck them into bed.

  27. I have a bedtime routine where both boys get their bottle and get a nighttime diaper. I take one son upstairs and read to him while he finishes his bottle. Then he gives me the bottle and rolls over. I take him and put him in the crib and wait until he goes to sleep then I sneak out and do a happy dance.

  28. i check the corner of the room above my bed, because one time while I slept a spider dropped right on my face!

  29. I am nuts about bedtime routines! I love everyone to be clean and ready to eat dinner, then we always have “highs and lows” at the dinner table, where we all talk about our day!

  30. we try to read before bed (tonight my son waved to the frog who was waving in the book :)) silenttributary(at)yahoo(dot)com

  31. My daughter and I like to snuggle in my bed for a while and watch the Upside Down Show. Gets her really comfortable and sleepy.

  32. My oldest cleans up his toys, then we get baby brother ready for bed, then big brother goes to bed. Very simple, lol
    mstlee2000 @ hotmail.com

  33. I read a story to my 2 year old and tuck him in and then I rock my 1 year old until he falls asleep. I am expecting another bundle of joy this july so I am cherishing my bedtime with the boys because soon there will be a newborn that will demand my attention.

  34. Bedtime routine at our house is Daddy time! Our son brushes his teeth and then Daddy reads to him, prays with him, and tucks him in 🙂

  35. Snowflake07 (Audra)

My hubby and daughter have a cute little routine, where every night they blow each other 3 kisses goodnight. It’s really sweet.

  36. I put the girls to bed at 8:00 for school. The youngest still sleeps with us and the oldest sleeps in her bed beside our bed. Well, while I lay with the youngest we talk about the day. We spend about 20 minutes a night just talking about whatever they want to. I love that time and don’t want it to stop. Thank you!!

  37. About 10 minutes before 8pm our daughters brush their tetth. Then they get their pj’s on. Get into bed and daddy reads them a stoty for about 20 minutes.

  38. Our routine is that my husband and I take turns putting the boys to bed, so that each of them gets some special one-on-one time with us. There is always, always, a story before bed. 🙂

  39. I give my kids a bath, brush their teeth, get them in pjs and then read Goodnight Moon and sing them a song before bed every night.

  40. They used to like for me to read to them, but now they love to read on their own before going to sleep.

  41. Debbie Stanton

our bedtime routine is goodnight kisses and hugs for everyone in the house, 1 book, lights out and 5 minutes or so of snuggle by mom or dad.

  42. Our bedtime routine involves brushing teeth, going potty, getting dressed, and reading a book…and then about an hour of torture. 😉

  44. If I happen to have my grandchildren that evening, after the obligatory tooth brushing, we read stories. Each child gets to pick a story. If I’m by myself, I read to myself–a bit more adult fare.

  45. My routine is nothing special– take out contacts, brush and floss teeth, clean face, moisturize face, and brush hair.

  46. My usual was to make sure they were covered and wish them goodnight, and then say, “don’t let the bed bugs bite.” It usually drew a giggle, but these days I don’t think there is anything funny about it.

  47. I learned, about a year into going back to work, that my kids needed a “snooze button”. I didn’t need to let them sleep as long as possible and rush them around. I needed to wake them up more than once to help them wake up. They also went to bed at 8:30 and if some psycho coach thought they should be practicing, too bad. We went home. There wasn’t a pennant riding on it.

  48. I prep my clothes and purse for the next, write any personal notes for my family members so that I can have them ready to go in the morning, set my alarm clock, say my good nights, give gratitude for the day, spend ten minutes envisioning how tomorrow could be great, and then try to empty my brain.. before realizing just how lucky I am to have my family and a comfy bed.

  49. Jennifer Miller

After bath time, we usually read for about 20 minutes before it’s lights out! It was my bedtime routine and we’ve just passed it on down the line. 🙂

  50. I like to do some relaxation and calming techniques to relax my muscles and release my body and mind of any toxins from the day. I also like to drink a cup of warm tea during cold weather or a glass of cool water during the hot summer before going to bed.

  51. I have either milk or chamomile tea with honey. Usually a quick warm shower too. I spray my pillow with a lavender and chamomile relaxing scent.

  52. This is a wonderful set! Before I go to bed, I have to let the dog out, put some pj’s on, wash my face, and brush my teeth 🙂

  53. We always read a’ bedtime story’ to our eleven-month-old before putting her down to sleep!

And sometimes, my wife and I will sing her a ‘lullaby’ just before bedtime!

Her favorite is ‘Toora, Loora, Loora’!

Thanks for the chance to win!

    Good Luck to all!

  54. routine- Put a light on in the hallway. pull covers down, put on radio just above a whisper

  56. I have to wait for my wife to fall asleep because she says that she can’t fall asleep because I snore.

  57. My daughter always has a handful of goldfish snacks and a drink of water before going to bed and this seems to settle her down for the night.

  58. We always have a bedtime story with the kids. We’ve graduated to chapter books now! The kids really enjoy the “suspense” of waiting until the next evening to find out what is going on!

  59. We have a nightly routine of dinner, tubtime, and reading 2 books of the kids’ choice then happy zzzzzz’s!

  60. I read my son a book every nite from my nook. I have probably 40 kiddy books on there. Tonight it was There’s a Monster at the End Of This Book… it lost some of its magic when read on an eReader.

  61. It’s not a routine as much as a rule– no electronics (tv, computer, etc.) at least a half hour before bedtime. It really helps to just calm down and get ready for sleep and a new day.

  62. My kids get pajamas on, wash face, brush teeth, my son turns his sleep sounds on, collects his “stuffed friends”, gets his sleep mask, fixes covers (usually resemble the aftermath of a tornado) and we pray. Sometimes if he is stalling he says goodnight and kisses each of the three cats and the dog.

  63. Without fail I have to put Vaseline on my feet with socks and Carmax on my lips. I can’t sleep if I don’t do this…Sounds silly I know but I have soft feet & lips 🙂 Thanks so much for this offer.

  64. Our routine is a bath with a little play time in the tub. Then we sing a couple of songs when they get into bed.

  65. We have three puppies that are all just over a year old and we currently allow them to sleep with us. So when it’s bedtime, our special routine is to get ourselves comfortably situated before letting them join… and sometimes that means getting comfortably situated quickly! 🙂

  66. First the kids take a bath, then they get settled in bed after which we come in and read to them.
    digicat{AT}sbcglobal{DOT}net

  67. We always brush teeth, get a cup of water, read a story, sing two songs, give hugs and kisses and tuck in. The same thing every night… and for the past ten days or so, the story has been green eggs and ham. I am so sick of it but my son loves it.

  68. My wife *usually, unless the kids request me* will read a chapter of the book we’re currently reading (Magic Treehouse Series!). Then its hugs / kisses / eskimo kisses / hand squeezes. Then we spray the room with monster stay-away potion (water, got the idea from an episode of gullah gullah island).

Then we turn on their Kenny Loggin’s cd and they are asleep within minutes!

  69. Yea, the routine is I’m routinely wrong. I try reading before I go to bed, but I usually get tired while reading … so I think I’ll just take a quick few minute rest and get back to reading. Unfortunately, I always fall asleep with the light on. I know I should just go to bed, but I always think I can control the situation. Stop me before I mess up again!!

  70. We all sit in my bed and read a book together(lately it is Twilight). We read for 30 mins and then I take the toddler and read him a kid book .Thanks!

  71. Joanne Schultz

Just reading books to the kids when they are in bed to help settle them down.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  72. We are expecting our first baby now so we do not have any bedtime routines in place yet but for ourselves we watch a little television before bed then we try to read or do something less electronically based to help our eyes and brains get in tune with going to sleep.

  73. Every night before bed we brush our teeth, read a story and say our prayers. Afterwards we give out hugs and kisses and I turn on each of my childrens favorite music for them softly. My three year old son loves opera.
Thank you so much for the chance to win.

  74. We have a very specific bedtime routine. First we kiss goodnight and then put our cup in the fridge (and at almost 3 – we do it By Ourself!!! because we are “big” now). Then we brush our teeth and go potty. Then we read a book and tuck the sheets in “just right”. Usually, my daughter then says she has to go potty again….so we have to redo the blankets. Then a kiss from mommy and lights out.

  75. We read a book, say prayers, and brush our teeth. Then we tuck the kids in. It isn’t very long but if we try to do anymore we’d never get our kids in bed.

  76. Yes, every night I have to move all of the cats that decide they need to sleep on just my side of the bed. My husband does not have a need for such a routine!

  77. when my niece sleeps over we watch a good g rated movie.then off to brush teeth and a story is read usually 🙂

  78. We always read a story to each boy and then they get a glass of milk and it’s off to bed…I’m very lucky and we don’t have many issues at all getting them to get to sleep. Thanks for the giveaway.

  79. I don’t have a special bedtime routine with my son…I really should since I heard routines are better for kids.

  80. My youngest son & I have a special bedtime routine of “Cream & Sugar” which is a kiss and a hug and then we say the same thing in spanish. So two kisses & hugs every night before bed.

  81. We don’t currently have any bedtime routines except for having a bath before bed. I would love to win and make listening to music a routine.

    BrendaLea
    prpldy (at) comcast dot net

  82. My bedtime routine is to watch tv – usually John Stewart – until I fall asleep.

    rlgrady[at]yahoo[dot]com

  83. I do not have any special routines. Just make sure everyone gets a hug & a kiss.

    Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<

  84. My bedtime routine is to put the animals in their crates, make sure porch light is on, check on each kid in their rooms asleep, and fall into bed and off to sleep as fast as possible.

  85. A bedtime routine is chasing down my extra blanket, as sometimes the kids move it somewhere in the house and forget to put it back.

  86. We prepare as much as possible the night before so that we’re not rushing the following morning. Then we wash up, brush our teeth, read and then go to bed.

  87. Veronica Garrett

My bedtime routine is to get our work and school clothes ready for morning, take a bath or shower, read, watch tv or use the computer for 20 minutes and be in bed at ten.

  88. My bedtime routine is to get my kids in a ‘relaxing’ mode by letting them lie in bed and read or watch cartoons quietly (I know, I’m not supposed to do that!) and then I tuck them in and chat with them for a few minutes about their day and then hugs and kisses! And then they actually go to sleep if I’m lucky LOL 😀
