Disney’s “The Great Mouse Detective” DVD Giveaway

Coming soon, the world’s most brilliant (and tiniest) sleuth will take audiences through the foggy streets of London in a heartwarming animated classic – “The Great Mouse Detective.”  This fun family movie will be coming to DVD in a newly restored digital master special edition on Tuesday, April 13th, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

You’ll love watching Basil of Baker Street take on Dr. Ratigan and try to help little Olivia.  The story is inspired by the adventures of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes.  The legendary filmmakers of this movie also created “The Princess and The Frog,” “The Little Mermaid,” and “Aladdin.”

Viewers can test their own powers of deduction and go behind the scenes of the movie with bonus features that include:
• So You Think You Can Sleuth? — An animated look at the history of detective
work, complete with a crime-solving puzzle for the entire family.
• The Making Of “The Great Mouse Detective”
• “The World’s Greatest Criminal Mind” Sing-Along Song

When talented toymaker Hiram Flaversham is mousenapped, his winsome daughter Olivia turns to the most famous mouse detective of them all, Basil of Baker Street. Accompanied by his assistant and confidante, Dr. David Q. Dawson, Basil uncovers a villainous plot by the “slimy, contemptible sewer rat” Dr. Ratigan to replace Moustoria,
Queen of Mice, with a look-alike robot and take control of the entire rodent population of London. Based on Eve Titus’s book Basil of Baker Street, The Great Mouse Detective channels the spirit of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous creation into a richly animated, Sherlock Holmsian tale set in Victorian-era London’s underground mouse kingdom.

  1. There have been so many wonderful Disney movies, I can’t think of one I don’t like….one of my many Disney favorites is Flight of the Navigator….my children have watched it so many times we can quote it!

    Thank you. 🙂

How can I pick just one favorite!! I love them all… A new one to add to my favorites is Princess and the Frog… the color, music, and vibe of the movie is fantastic!

  4. Only one? My collection is full of Disney classics, but Lady and the Tramp is my favorite. They just don’t make them like that anymore. The Great Mouse Detective is also a terrific film. Vincent Price makes a great villain. I remember loving the film as a teenager when it first came out, but I haven’t seen it in many years. Thank you for the chance to win.

  5. It’s not the most popular of the Disney movies, but I happen to really like this one … probably because it has mice in it :). Otherwise I think my favorite would either be Sleeping Beauty (I like Flora, Fauna and Merriweather) or Beauty & the Beast.

  6. i think my favorite disney movie would be lady & the tramp a real classic thanks my grandson would love this dvd
