SuperKids Nutrition
Did you know that by the time a child is six years old, chances are he or she has developed eating habits for life? It’s not too late to help your family make healthy lifestyle changes! Families everywhere are focused on the Food Revolution – ranging anywhere from the new TV series to the health and nutrition movement mastered by First Lady Michele Obama. I’ve also been introduced to a website where you can learn about tips and advice for healthy nutrition -at SuperKids Nutrition.
SuperKids Nutrition was created by Melissa Halas-Liang, who is a mom and a registered dietician. Melissa helps to educate parents, kids, and healthcare professionals. The website offers expert tips and tools for healthy eating and lifestyles. Plus, the site empowers parents to build a healthy family through easy-to-read information, coloring pages, activities, recommended children’s books, and more!
As I was browsing the site, I discovered how to make Easter Baskets healthy. So often, we think about filling Easter baskets with chocolates and other sweet goodies. A healthier alternative to tons of sweet candies is to include fun stickers, games, toys, and sugarfree gum. Add fruit to your child’s Easter basket – fresh or freeze dried are yummy treats. Include tools so your child can start his or her own garden, such as seeds, a small pot, gardening gloves, and garden tools for kids. You can also include Easter-themed reading books, crayons, and coloring books.
