Fiddler on the Roof is Coming to Seattle!

If you have ever seen the movie, “Fiddler on the Roof (2-Disc Collector’s Edition),” you probably recognize the name Topol. Here is a clip of Topol from the movie.

I am super excited that “Fiddler on the Roof” (the Broadway musical) is coming to Seattle in May. In fact, we’re just waiting for tickets to go on sale! This was going to be the final tour for Topol in the Broadway musical, who plays the character Tevye. However, Chaim Topol “regrettably informed the show’s producers he would have to leave the production due to a shoulder injury requiring emergency long term treatment” (Broadway Across America).

Harvey Fierstein will be replacing Topol as Tevye. Fierstein has won four TONY awards including Best Book of a Play and Best Actor in a Play for Torch Song Trilogy. His most reecent win was the 2003 TONY for Best Actor in a Musical for the Broadway production of Hairspay. He’s also starred in Mrs. Doubtfire, Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, and Independence Day.

Fiddler on the Roof will be at The Paramount Theater in Seattle, Washington on the following days:

Tuesday, May 25th – 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 26th – 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 27th – 7:30 p.m.
Friday, May 28th – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 29th – 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 30th – 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Single tickets will be available in April 2010.
