We watched a wonderful movie this weekend called, “The Boys Are Back.”  It was a feel-good movie with a great ending!  Oh…and it has Clive Owen – woo hoo!  “The Boys Are Back” will be released by Miramax Films and Buena Vista Home Entertainment on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010.  I loved it and am so glad to add it to our movie collection.  I highly recommend it!  Plus, the bonus features are amazing.  The photograpic tour was fun to watch and I loved the interviews with the 3 guys in real life who lived the story!

“The Boys Are Back” stars Clive Owen (Closer, Duplicity), as well as Laura Fraser (A Knight’s Tale), Emma Booth (TV’s “The Circuit”), and George MacKay (Defiance).  The film is directed by Scott Hicks (Shine).  This was a deeply moving story with many funny parts in it as well.  The story is about a man who is an independent sportswriter trying to make the best of the cards dealt to him in life and faces single fatherhood.  After the death of his wife, he finds himself raising a curious six-year-old (Nicholas McAnulty) and a rebellious teen from a previous marriage (George MacKay) in a house with no feminine influence at all.  The movie is inspired by true story of Australian Simon Carr.  You’ll enjoy this uplifting story of one family’s journey and the bond that develops between them.
