Help Send Me to BlogHer ’10 in New York City

I am so excited to go to New York City this year for BlogHer.  I can’t believe how quickly it’s approaching.  I am finding various ways to make money on the side to send me there, as it’s going to cost a good chunk of change.  Being a stay-at-home and a member of a family of five with one income, money is a little tight, to say the least.

Here is the list of items I need to pay for:

Conference Ticket – $200 – PAID

Hotel Room – $189 a night x 3 nights – approximately $650 with taxes

Taxis – $100 (a guess)

Airfaire – $400

Food – $100 (a guess)

So, it looks like I need to raise about $1100 in the next few months – eesh!

Here is my purpose in writing this.  If you are a company and would like to sponsor me in going to BlogHer and would like to post your ad on my site, I can give you a quote for my charge to advertisers.  If you are a reader and LOVE my blog and would like to donate something to help me go to BlogHer, you can do so through paypal – themommyfiles@gmail.com.  If you do make a contribution, please title it BlogHer, so that I can give you a proper shoutout!

Thanks everyone!  Here’s to BlogHer 2010!

  2. I would like to help you out, but I am not in the best place to right now… But if you could email me or repost this toward the middle or end of February, I should be able to help out a little!!! 🙂

  3. Shannon, I SO hope you can go! You really deserve to go. I would love to go also, but don’t see it in my future! I would never be able to go alone, and definitely couldn’t afford for both Bill & I to go.
I know that there are lots of companies that will send you, because YOU ROCK!!
I can’t wait to read your review of the conference!

  5. I know what you mean about expensive. My family of 4 just came back from NYC but we had to drive all the way from GA and stay with family to make it happen. I’m a SAHM too BTW. And great blog!
