Smucker's traditionsI recently had the opportunity to visit Smucker’s Headquarters in Ohio and it was SO MUCH FUN!  There is an amazing group of people working at and with Smucker’s.  I had no idea before I went that Smucker’s was more than just jam!  Smucker’s also represents Jif, Folgers, Eagle Brand, Knott’s Jams & Syrups, Hungry Jack, Pillsbury, Crisco, and more!  I can tell you first-hand that I am so impressed with Smucker’s.  They are at the top of my list of companies I would be happy to represent on my blog and in person.  I can’t tell you how many people I’ve talked to about Smucker’s and their products.  I love that it is a family-friendly family-run company!

Through December 18th, 2009, Smucker’s is giving readers the opportunity to vote for their favorite recipe in the Spreading Smucker’s Traditions Recipes and Essay Contest.  There are five finalists who were picked among several recipes and essays submitted.  Of the 5 finalists, 1 will receive a grand prize – a trip for 8 to Walt Disney World Resort and then 4 winners will receive a $100 Gift Basket.  By voting for your favorite, you can get in on the Smucker’s Gift Basket action and qualify to win one of these fabulous gift baskets from Smucker’s!

    Mom’s Friday Night Sea Bass Special

    I chose this one because I plan to take that sauce recipe, add some hot chili paste to it and use it in a stir fry.
    I also love fish, so that’s another reason.

    i voted for the “Lovey-Dovey Cake.” It reminds me of a cake my mom used to make. She made a rhubarb jam to spread on top, then the meringue. It was delicious!

    I voted for the Tart Cherry Cheddar Squares. I love her story about how she found the recipe in her grandmother’s handwriting. I have a few of my grandmother’s things and I treasure them all.
