One that the kids can pick up by themselves?!? I personally like one that sits flat, so when you carve it, it doesn’t fall over!

I think you just look for the one that “Calls” to you πŸ™‚ You will know it is perfect for your family once you see it–or your 3 yr old sees it. LOL!! Sorry no genius tricks for you. I also like them to sit flat for carving.

I let the kids pick their favorite pumpkins, the only thing I tell them is to look for one that sits up straight enough that they can decorate πŸ™‚ Other then that they usually have very specific ideas about what they want to find!

The feeling you get when you happen to pick up ‘The One’ Lol

  5. We always had four pumpkins that sat on our front porch that I let my youngest Alex pick out… He picked out 4 that looked like each of us:
~ a short round one for Bill
~ a taller thinner one for me (I love my little boy!)
~ a medium size one for Nikolaus
~ a little one for himself
The last two got progressively larger each year, as the boys did.
