Writer’s Workshop #2 – Words that Hurt Me
Each week, on Mama’s Losin’ It, you can choose a topic to write on. I chose this week to write on “Words that Hurt Me.”
Most of us have had a crush or two or many in our younger years. My first crush was in elementary school. I had a crush on a blonde boy by the name of Kenny. I thought he was cute! I was in the bathroom (probably trying to fix the ponytail on the side of my head) and was talking to my “best friend.” She asked who I had a crush on. I hesitated telling her. I told her I had a crush on Kenny and asked her not to tell anyone.
Now, being my best friend, you think she would keep this to herself! WRONG! She ran right out the bathroom door and told him. I watched through the crack of the door as she ran up to him, talked to him for a minute, and then headed back to the bathroom.
She told me, “Kenny says he hates your guts.” I burst into tears. How could anyone be so mean? He didn’t know me or what I liked. What a jerk!
After that point, I was very careful about what I told my friends and who I considered my friends. I also decided that “getting married in the field” just wasn’t for me π
You poor thing! Kenny didn’t know what was good for him.
kenny was a jerk!
Awwww…what a blabbermouth. I would have punched her. I bet Kenny’s kickin’ himself in the butt for being such a meanie.
oh, that totally sucks
What a little turd. Both of em.
What a jerk! I remember a similar incident in my childhood. I am glad you wised up quickly. I probably let my little elementary heart get stomped on a few times before I learned. lol!
