  1. I didn’t really have birthday parties as a kid, so the first big party I’d been a major part of was my son’s first birthday last August. It was simple, but fun!

  2. The best birthday memory I have is of my big 3-0! My husband threw a surprise party for me and I was so shocked! I am not on blogger so I could not figure out how to follow you but I have bookmarked your site! Great scores at Safeway!!

  3. I have so many fond memories of my birthday parties when I was a kid… my mum did them “the old fashioned” way – balloons on the mailbox, pass the parcel, pin the tail, hiding candy in the backyard, BBQs, treat bags etc. We never had “event” parties or expensive parties, but they were FUN. And now that I am in my 20’s my friends still occasionally mention how fun my mum made those parties!

With my own littles now the pressure is on!!

didn’t have parties as a kid but my sons 5th was awesome with the ballons and the friends and we swam and had a blast

  5. My 40th birthday was wonderful. We had a big cook out in the backyard with a bunch of friends and family plus my husband gave me a surprise trip to Paris oolala.

  6. Well. . . I have had two birthday parties in my life. They were both to be surprises, but neither were. The first was when I was 10, and the second when I was 19. The 19th was put on by good friends, and was far better than the 10th.

  7. My 16th Birthday party, seems the whole school was there, I had no idea, my mom got my best friend to do the invite, and the best part was, I am crazy for the band kiss and gene is my favorite and my mom had an awsome cake of gene simmons in the makeup done for me, must have cost a small fortune, I Loved it and had a ball, I will never forget, I am 40 now and my friends still talk about that party

  8. The first year we were dating my hubby gave me a surprise party. This year is going to be a big one: 4-0. With a HUGE seafood fiesta!

  9. Birthdays were pretty low-key when I was a kid, so I would have to say my favorite memories are of my son’s birthday parties. I spend the whole year planning for them, and I love it!

My 8th birthday was a big backyard carnival with clowns, games, and all of my friends from school. It was a lot of work for my mom I think but a lot of fun.

  15. I had a great slumber party with a bunch of friends in 5th grade. After that we went to middle school & you know how girls can be. It was a good party!

  16. I LOVE to plan parties, I always think ahead to the next party for my kids or next party that I just want to do! My fav as a child was when my dad took 8 of us girls who were in 2nd grade out on our range land in Montana to have a hot dog roast!

  17. Most of my funny memories are of my kids being brats. It’s funny now that they’re older but not then. One time my four year old was giving the clown we hired a hard time over I don’t even remember what. Another time we had a graduation party and the 3rd son was teasing the 4th son and when he missed hitting the pinata my husband had to carry the youngest one in who was throwing a temper tantrum of a lifetime.

  18. I never had parties as a kid, but my biggest memory of going to one was being told at 5 years old that I was the wrong kid and invited by mistake!

  19. My favorite birthday party was at Showbiz Pizza when I turned 6 years old! We almost never had big birthday parties so that one stands out.

  20. My favorite birthday party moment was when I was 10 years old. I had stiches on my chin at the time so my dad put on my birthday cake happy birthday rat, lol, because he said the stiches string looked like rat hairs. Thanks, Godesseablu@msn.com

  21. Last year my twin sis and I had a 49th birthday party and bbq at my cousin’s house on the lake and watched the fireworks off her deck and had a nice visit. my mom was with us.
