Today, on Redhead Mom, I’m sharing a partnered guest post about how to pick the right gift hampers.

How To Pick The Right Gift Hampers

Do you want to make your loved ones’ holiday extra special this year? Here are some tips and tricks to help you find the perfect presents for them!

Gift Hampers

The holidays can be perceived differently by different people. For some, it is the time when they can pat themselves on the back for all the hard work done throughout the year, and finally relax. For others, it’s all about welcoming a new beginning, and they celebrate it by giving their home or wardrobe a fresh makeover. Most importantly, it’s about taking the opportunity to thank and cherish the people we hold close to our hearts. And what better way to do that than to pamper them with gifts?

Now,  picking gifts isn’t always an easy task, and you can start feeling a little overwhelmed by all the different options available. Luckily for you, gift hampers might just save you a lot of time and effort. Still, feeling a little lost? Here are a few tips and tricks to help you find the perfect gift hampers.

Avoid Last-Minute Shopping

We are all leading busy lives, I know. However, we shouldn’t let our busy schedules disrupt our plans for friends and family. Therefore, don’t wait till the last minute to go shopping for gifts. Buying something at the eleventh-hour results in rushed and poorly thought out gifts. If you want to make it special for your loved ones, consider shopping earlier.

If you have a busy schedule, then spare one weekend to finish up all the shopping. That way, you will have ample time to pick out the right gift hampers for everyone.

Keep The Person In Mind

I hear terrible stories about gifts all too often. What is it that makes these gifts so unpleasant, you ask? Well, people sometimes make the mistake of forgetting who the recipient is. It’s either the theme or the contents of the gift hamper that don’t suit the receiver at all! This problem is more common than you think, and honestly, most people make the same mistake often.

The simplest way to avoid these mishaps is to keep in mind the person you are giving the gift to. You should think about factors like their age and tastes.

Many websites and stores will tell you what the gift hamper contains, so half your work is already done – if you know who it’s for, all you have to do is find a combination between your options and their test.

To give you an example, let’s say you are buying something for a  foodie. Why not consider giving them a gift hamper filled with all the delicious snacks they can think of?

Or maybe you want to get something special for your newborn niece; there are many adorable and meaningful gift hampers for baby girls to choose from! A quick tip in this case (for babies) – avoid buying hampers with items you think they might like when they are up.

Sure, you and your sibling might feel it’s a good idea, but it’s quite impractical. As kids grow, they develop their tastes; there’s a chance that they might not like those items or find them of any use when they grow up.

If you want to give a unique and personalized gift to someone, why not consider a custom bobble head? A custom bobblehead is a great way to show someone that you care about them and that you put thought into their gift. You can have a bobblehead made to look like the recipient, their favorite celebrity, or even their pet! The possibilities are endless, and it’s sure to be a gift they will remember for years to come. Just make sure that the recipient is someone who would appreciate a custom bobblehead before you go ahead and order one!

Decide on A Theme or Aesthetic

Whenever I’m trying to curate guides for giving gifts, I always make sure to remind everyone to stick to an aesthetic that best fits the recipient. I cannot stress how important this is.

Choosing the proper aesthetic makes your gift more meaningful and sincere. It tells the person that you know them well, that you pay close attention to their sentiments, and that you care for their happiness. That’s exactly what you want your gift to be – something that lets them know you value them.

As an example, I’ll elaborate on what I would give to my best friend. She’s someone who gives me tinker bell vibes and has a knack for sweets. I would look for a gift hamper that’s decorated with flowers and glittery packaging – and of course, It would be a hamper filled with sweet snacks for her to enjoy while she works.

You do not have to be detailed about their choice, but as long as the gift makes sense for them, it’s a win. In conclusion, choosing the right aesthetic or theme means that you have to keep in mind the packaging, the decorations, and its contents.

Find an Authentic Seller

When purchasing gift hampers, you want to make sure you find a seller you can trust. There are many “on a budget” gift hampers you will find during your shopping spree and some of these hampers may look very appealing. But our suggestion is to steer clear of those.

Most of the time you will end up with a hamper filled with items from random brands that you’ve never heard of. It might look nice, but there’s no way to ensure these items’ quality – especially if it’s a cosmetic or food gift hamper. Try to buy from reputed sellers, who curate gift hampers filled with products from good brands. You want the gifts to be of premium quality; after all, it’s your friends and family we’re talking about.

Don’t Know The Recipient Well? Stay on The Side

Let’s say that you were invited to a holiday dinner at your professor or boss’ place. While you might have a good professional relationship with them, you might not necessarily be familiar with what they would like. You certainly don’t want to go to their place empty-handed, so what to do in this case?

Go with a gift hamper that contains a variety of different items. For example, you can get them a hamper containing a few different alcoholic beverages and some snacks that go with the drinks. You can never go wrong with these. However, it doesn’t necessarily have to be alcoholic. It can be anything as long as it has a mix of products in it.

You’ve Got Your Hampers, Now What?

Steady now, finding the perfect hampers for your loved ones is only half the job. Of course, you can always give them their presents as is, but why would you? Why not take things up a notch and make them even more special? Here are a bunch of things you can do after having all the gift hampers in order.

Give the Packaging an Upgrade

Gift hampers are designed to look flattering; The decorations they come with are great, but there’s nothing wrong with adding your personal touch to it. We suggest that you experiment with different kinds of gift wrappers.

Since it’s for the holidays, stick to wrapping papers that are red, green, or white. As for the designs on them, look for ones with teddy bears, Christmas wreaths, or snowflakes. As I mentioned earlier, glitter wrappers are nice too!

Avoid shiny, plastic gift wrappers. They are very hard to put together, and if you are doing the wrapping on your own, you want to save yourself the extra hassle.

Give it With a Bouquet

Put together a beautiful bouquet with the gift hamper. It adds elegance to your presentation. Do not buy the flowers from before. Get them right before you head over to give them their gift. Otherwise, you run the risk of the flowers wilting and losing their rich colors.

Add Personalized Messages

Lastly, you can always add a personalized note addressed to the recipient. It can either be a simple card with a meaningful quote, or it can be a letter.

If you’re feeling extra fancy, decorate your note stickers or use colored pens to write on the paper. Don’t be shy! You’re never too young to decorate gifts. It’s just a sweet gesture, and I’m sure your loved ones deserve that.

If you can’t decide what to write, why not find a card? Holiday cards may sometimes be tacky – but, not always. If you have time, visit your nearest gift shop to look for a good holiday card (with a nice quote written in it) to add to your gift hamper.

If All Else Fails, Go With Your Gut

Don’t worry if you can’t find a hamper that’s good enough for you. You aren’t always going to find a perfect match, so be mentally prepared to buy something less than what you expected.

When things don’t add up, the best thing to do is look thoroughly at all the options you have and go with the one that resonates with you; in other words, go with your guts, and everything should be just fine! Good Luck, and Happy Holidays!
