Tips for Feeling Happy
Today, on Redhead Mom, we are sharing a partnered blog post about tips for feeling happy.
Life is a pretty amazing things. We can have days that are absolutely amazing and unforgettable. We can also days that are the worst ever and we can’t wait for them to be done. We can even have days that are somewhere in between. No matter the situation, how we feel through those different days can be highly affected by our attitudes. While we may not be happy every moment of every single day, we can definitely try to make the effort towards it. Here are a few tips for feeling happy.
Gratitude. One of the quickest ways to boost our levels of happiness is by thinking of those things we are grateful to have. One time, I heard someone say that every morning they wake up, they think of ten things they are grateful to have. You could be grateful for a home to live in, heat or air conditioning to make you feel comfortable, food to eat, or even legs to walk and run. Thinking of those things you are grateful for tends to put you in a more positive frame of mind, which leads to feeling happy.
Food. Food can affect your happiness in a number of ways. Some people get great joy for cooking or creating meals and maybe even sharing about it (we all love a good food picture on Instagram, right?). Your kitchen (learn more about your kitchen hoods at this site) can definitely be your happy place when expressing your creativity! Different foods can affect how you feel when you eat them as well. Explore. With COVID-19, it is more difficult to travel than at other times, but exploring is not out of the picture. You can explore your local neighborhood by going for a walk or a drive. You can explore other parts of the world by watching documentaries or movies about them. You can even see what other people are exploring in different parts of the world through YouTube and other forms of social media.
Exercise. Exercise is another thing that helps you feel happy. Whether it’s going for a walk or run or riding a bike, exercise helps boost some of the chemicals in your brain that affect how you feel. It also helps you to be healthier.
Give. A way that I find helps me feel happy is by giving to others. When I am focused on giving to or helping others, my mind is immediately drawn away from those negative things in my life that I might be dwelling on.
Makeover. Another way is to give yourself a makeover. This could include getting a manicure and/or pedicure at your local nail salon or even getting your hair done (cut and/or colored) at your local hair salon. It could include buying a new outfit, either for every day use or a special occasion. It could also include picking out a new piece of jewelry, such as a set of earrings, a necklace, or a watch (learn more here).
While there are definitely many other ways we can feel happy, these are just a few that I shared with you.
