Today, on Redhead Mom, I’m sharing a partnered blog post about 10 Ways to Feel Better About Yourself.

With the COVID-19 pandemic and obstacles we face in everyday life, sometimes it can make us feel down. We all have problems – nobody has a perfect life – so let’s start by addressing the elephant in the room and say that everyone has challenges they face. The ones that affect us emotionally can often times be some of the most powerful ones. So let’s take that power back and find ways to feel better about ourselves. Check out these ways I’m sharing in this blog post.

1 – Remember to breathe. Take a deep breath and imagine everything working out. Sometimes all we need to do is stop, take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and imagine everything working out for the best. While it might not necessarily turn out that way, it can help us move forward in a positive manner.

2 – Watch your thoughts. Thinking about things turning out positively can help you feel more confident and happy rather than stressing and looking at the negative that could happen, but hasn’t actually happened yet. This can affect your overall confidence and attitude on how you approach things in life.

3 – Love yourself. Remember, you don’t need to be perfect to have a good life. We often learn from our weaknesses and the challenges we face make us stronger. Those challenges also help us to help others. You’ve got this. Don’t give up.

4 – Remember that disappointment is part of life. EVERYONE goes through disappointment at one time or another. Nobody can escape it. Use that disappointment to get you to the next level. Use it to push yourself to reach new goals and know that this is a normal part of life.

5 – Exercise. It’s amazing how exercise can boost your mood! This is because exercise boosts your endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Exercise can help you feel like you can accomplish anything. Check out some ideas from Montreal Weights.

6 – Write down six things you are proud of. If you’re having a hard time on this, try to think of words that start with the letters in your name (i.e., SHANNON = Strong Hard-working Awesome Nurturing Nice Open-hearted Nifty). Keep this list in your wallet, in your journal, or in a place you can easily access.

7 – Wear clothes that make you feel good. It’s amazing how much your confidence goes up when you feel good in the clothes (check out this site)Β you are wearing. If you need a boost and are looking for some new clothes, be sure to start looking online or in clothing stores near you.

8 – Talk to a friend. It’s amazing how much it can help when you talk with a friend. Sometimes recognizing how you’re feeling makes a world of difference and often times, our friends can have good advice for us that we might not have otherwise considered.

9 – Accessorize. We mentioned wearing clothes that make you feel good, but how about our accessories (learn more at this site). It’s amazing how much a piece of jewelry or bling can brighten your day! There are lots of different accessories that can help brighten your day.

10 – Pamper yourself. You don’t necessarily have to go to a super expensive place to feel pampered. You might be able to talk your spouse or significant other into treating you a mobile massage. There are many reasonably priced spas where one can get a nice relaxing massage without breaking the bank. A simple manicure at home or a visit to your local nail or hair salon can also help you pamper yourself. For me, I always feel better after a manicure, pedicure, or massage.

What are some of the ways you feel better about yourself?
