Today, on Redhead Mom, I’m sharing a partnered guest post about How to Create Your Perfect Bedroom Space.

Perfect Bedroom Space

Ready to turn that tired bedroom into your perfect sleeping space?  Are you looking for tips and ideas to help you create your ideal bedroom?  Here’s some suggestions to help you design your dream room.

The Bed

Sometimes less isn’t more.  When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, you need a bed that’s big enough for two.  As well as the bed size, the mattress type is also important.  Many brands offer an online service, but there’s no substitute for going and trying out a range of mattresses in person. It’s the best way to find the right one for you.  Finally, don’t forget the bedding.  High-quality sheets, duvets and pillows make a difference, but so does getting the right mix of bed linen to keep you cool or snug.

Built-In Storage

Let’s face it, we all have a lot of stuff.  And the biggest problem when trying to create a stylish and relaxing bedroom, is having all our clothes, shoes and things scattered around the room.  Built-in storage that’s designed to fit all our belongings perfectly, and keep it hidden behind doors, is a practical solution.

Calming Colors

Whether you go for soothing natural tones such as warm browns, off-whites and light greys, or calming colors such as pastel greens, blues and pinks, it’s up to you.  If you’re thinking about wallpapering, go for soft patterns inspired by nature.  Florals, seascapes and woodland inspired wallpapers are all popular choices for bedrooms.

Comfortable Flooring

Comfort is key for bedroom flooring.  It should be nice underfoot as you’re likely to be walking on it in bare feet.  If you’re living in an area where it’s often chilly in the mornings, then a soft and warm carpet is going to be appealing.  Whereas, if you’re living where the weather is warmer, then you might be tempted by a hardwood floor.  Either way, to get a good finish you’ll no doubt hire professionals to install it, so flooring fitting costs will need to be considered.

Adding an En Suite Bathroom

Lastly, but some may say most importantly, think about adding your own en suite bathroom.  No more waiting for, or trekking to, the family bathroom.  Here you can create a grown-up, clutter-free space that will top your perfect bedroom off nicely.

I hope these ideas have given you some inspiration to get started on creating your perfect bedroom space.
