Tropical Vacation for the Whole Family
Today, on Redhead Mom, we’re sharing this partnered guest post about enjoying a tropical vacation for the whole family
Sun, sea, and sand add up to a wonderful family vacation, making a tropical excursion a great choice for parents and kids alike. A tropical island or beach town always offers fun and excitement for adults and children, with calm seas and long, clean beaches, it’s the perfect place for parents to relax and kids to run free.
There are great tropical vacation destinations to be found across the world, and plenty of the best spots are incredibly family-friendly. I’ve pulled together a few of my favorites to help you plan your family trip, the next time you feel the need to escape to the sun.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
A cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico, is the perfect option for a family looking for sun, beaches, charming colonial architecture and some great food. Old San Juan provides a myriad of family-friendly activities, including pirate forts (kids enter the Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Fuerte San Cristobal for free), kite flying and loads of gorgeous parks. The city’s beaches are pretty perfect, with calm waters and year-round sunshine, while the Aquaglide Park at Condado Lagoon offers a more controlled watery environment.
Paradise Island, Bahamas
Paradise Island in the Bahamas does exactly what it says on the tin, and is a genuine vacation destination of dreams for kids and adults alike. The calm, warm waters hide an array of fascinating and exciting marine life, including green sea turtles, stingrays, and harmless nurse sharks, as well as over 50 species of electric-colored tropical fish, and are perfect for snorkeling. Atlantis in Nassau is one the most family-friendly resorts in the world, with kids clubs, a water park and the biggest outdoor aquarium in existence. Further afield there are a bunch of other wonderful places to stay, and great activities that the whole family will enjoy, including souvenir shopping in the Straw Market, and pink flamingo spotting at Adrasta Gardens.
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Families will feel right at home on Grand Cayman, where the familiar feel of American culture mixes with the golden sand and azure waters of a classic Caribbean island, combining to make the perfect match and the ideal vacation destination. The seas around Grand Cayman are calm and shallow, meaning parents can let their kids off the leash without worrying. Seven Mile Beach is lined with superb family-friendly resorts like the Grand Cayman Marriott and the Wyndham Reef Resort, while the Grand Cayman Turtle Center gives everyone a chance to get up close to some amazing sea life.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Cabo San Lucas is full of activities that will keep every family entertained. It boasts the glorious beaches and great weather that Mexico is renowned for, but with the addition of an extraordinary variety of marine life and natural wonders in the Sea of Cortez, ‘the aquarium of the world’. In the winter you can see herds of migrating Grey and Humpback whales just off the coast or snorkel with dolphins and sea lions. Just outside the town lies excitement, with camel riding, zip-lining and rock climbing for more adventurous families.[wl_faceted_search]
