How to Support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

When I was in Girl Scouts, I remember doing a service project for some of the children within the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. It was around Christmastime and we were going to take them stockings. We made the stockings by hand-cutting out the felt and sewing them together. We also decorated them with glue and glitter, and then filled them with an assortment of goodies for the children. Once we were done, we delivered the goodies to the children. It was such an amazing and memorable experience. I will never forget the looks on the children’s faces when we gave them the stocking and sang Christmas carols to them. It was a life-changing experience.
I don’t think many people know it, but children’s hospitals have a great charitable need and support from all professionals. With the availability of the same day doctor, every children’s health is under constant surveillance but it would be nice if there were extra help and support to run the hospital smoothly. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals in the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local and are used however the hospital needs them the most.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the U.S. provide more than $3.5 billion in charitable care every single year. They also use donations to purchase life-saving equipment, conduct research and pay for the special things that make a children’s hospital a children’s hospital and so crucial to a child’s healing (specialized therapy programs, equipment in multiple sizes, playrooms, etc.). They are able to provide the very best care because people donate.
