As moms, we are constantly on the go. Whether it’s driving our kids to school and other extracurricular activities, going shopping, or getting our daily tasks done, we are on the go a lot. I don’t know about you, but I love to be prepared and I can do with a Mom’s Survival Kit, which I keep with me in the car. This is great because it includes things I need on a daily basis that I might have forgotten to do or use on my way out the door. Check out how I make a DIY Mom’s Survival Kit.

How to Make a DIY Mom’s Survival Kit

1 – Choose a bag to hold your goodies in. I like mine to be big enough to hold my goodies in it, but small enough to where I can put it in my glove box or console in between our seats in the car.

2 – Favorite lip balm. I like one that keeps my lips soft and moisturized and has a good flavor to it.

3 – Hairbrush. I can’t tell you how many times I (or one of our kids) needed to use a brush. This is good for touch-ups or brushing hair in the mornings on the way to school.

4 – Ibuprofen. With all of the busy-ness of the day, I tend to get aches sometimes. It’s great to have a little container of Ibuprofen in your Survival Kit.

5 – Travel-size bottle of hand sanitizer. I don’t know about you, but I do not like when my hands feel sticky or dirty. Not to mention all of the things we touch that others may have touched with unclean hands. A travel-sized hand sanitizer is definitely something you want to include in your Mom’s Survival Kit.

6 – Tissue. I like to include a travel-size package of tissue because you really never know when you’ll need it!

7 – Cash. You never know when you might need to use cash, so I like to have at least $5 in my Mom’s Survival Kit! The amount is up to you – but it’s good to start with $5.

7 – Don’t forget the gum! I love to have gum on hand, whether it’s in my purse or in the car. Sometimes it’s because I ate something really strong smelling (I’m talking garlic or onions) or sometimes it’s just because I feel like chewing gum and want to have fresh breath after. It’s great to have it if you’re planning on giving your man a smooch when you get home too! One of my favorite brands to chew is Wrigley Extra® Gum!

I recently discovered Wrigley Extra® Gum 35-stick packages at our local CVS. There were two flavors in particular that I was interested in trying – Extra® Gum Spearmint and Extra® Gum Polar Ice®. Each package includes 35 sticks and retails for $3.29. You get over 2 packs of gum in one package!!!

I am loving the new Extra® 35-stick pack! These new, durable 35-stick packs (made with durable, recycled packaging) are perfect for splitting between your desk, car and purse. Plus it means there is more sharing between family, friends, and coworkers, making it easy to “Give Extra, Get Extra!” The convenient, larger stick packages feature durable, recycled packaging wit You can find the Extra® Gum 35-stick packages in the checkout line at your local CVS.

Be sure to pick up the new Extra® 35-stick pack in Spearmint or Polar Ice® at your CVS!

  2. I don’t care who you are, a survival kit with essentials personalized to you is ALWAYS a good idea! I use to have one I carried with me in my purse but downsized and it didn’t fit in my new purse. I’m going to have to redo that one of these days!

  3. Ibuprofen is so important for my “mom bag!” I also carry a hairbrush and ponytail holders. I need to add gum to my bag.

  4. My teen daughter would totally agree with you on the GUM, she is addicted to gum and loves this brand too! Thanks for some ideas on what I should have in my moms survival bag!

  5. I love that the Extra gum is available in larger sizes. And it’s absolutely perfect for a survival bag for mom. I don’t go anywhere without my gum.

  6. So smart to keep a hairbrush in there. I can’t count the times I’ve forgotten and really needed one. I always do have gum…well almost always. 🙂

  7. This would be great for my sister. She likes to carry gum with her, but she could use the other stuff listed on here.

  8. I carry a lot of these but the one thing I might add is Lifesavers. They are perfect for when you need that emergency sugar energy!
