5 Ways to Make Spring Cleaning Fun

It’s that time of year again – time for Spring cleaning! We’ve set our clocks back, opened our windows, and begun to think about what needs cleaning (or getting rid of) in our homes. If you notice signs of mice infestation in your home while cleaning, you might want to call in a mice pest control expert straight away.

With kids, it can be a big challenge trying to get them to help out with Spring cleaning. Here are 5 Ways to Make Spring Cleaning Fun!

5 Ways to Make Spring Cleaning Fun

1 – Put on fun clothes to clean in! Whether it’s your son’s Flash costume, your daughter’s princess costume or bright clothes, it’s fun to do something out of the ordinary when working. If you think about it, isn’t it fun to put on rainbow outfits for color runs? Why not put on clothes that make that dreadful task of cleaning fun.

2 – Invite your kids to purchase cleaning supplies at the store. Our kids love to help buy things at the store. When it comes to purchasing cleaning supplies, have them help pick out the supplies that don’t have chemicals in them, such as mops, dusting cloths, scrubbing brushes, brooms and more. Plus, see if you can find a “child sized” broom or brush so they can help clean with their own supplies.

3 – Turn the music up. When I was a kid, I did not like Spring cleaning! I would have rather sat in my room, listening to my walkman (yeah, I just went there) and reading my Teen magazine. However, when it was time to clean, I always looked forward to my mom putting on a Diana Ross record in the record player.

4 – Order take-out after the big cleaning! When it comes to Spring cleaning, I like to spend a day really cleaning the house. Afterwards, I honestly don’t feel like cooking, but would rather just sit back, relax and enjoy my food. After a big cleaning job, we like to order pizza, put on a movie and relax together. A great incentive to work towards while cleaning.

5 – Have a garage sale. I don’t know about you, but Spring cleaning for me doesn’t only involve “cleaning,” but it also involves getting rid of things we don’t use or need anymore. Kids love to make money, so let them help out and sell their stuff at a garage sale. Not only will it give them incentive to get rid of things, but they’ll love talking to customers and pocketing the money they make from their sales.

Of course, not all of these items are suitable for purchase. Make sure to rent dumpsters or schedule a junk removal service to dispose items that are no longer useful.
