I love this time of year! It’s the time of year where we are planning and approaching the holidays! I love seeing individuals and companies reaching out to help others. I love helping others as well! ‘Tis the season to spread good cheer, right?

Every year, Franz Family Bakery gives back to the community with the Spirit of Giving charitable campaign. Throughout the month of November, (November 1st – November 28th), Franz accepts nominations for 50 families in need to receive $500 along with Franz food products (including a year supply of Franz bread) to help make their lives a little more special during the holiday season.

About the Spirit of Giving

There’s no better feeling than helping out a neighbor in need. Tell Franz about the well-deserving people, families or organizations that have touched your life over the years. Franz will choose 40 of the nominees to receive $500 and a year’s supply of bread to help make their lives a little more special this holiday season. Nominations can be submitted at Franz Family Bakery online. If your nominee is selected you will also receive a one-year supply of Franz bread!

My kids and I donate jackets, food, and clothing, as well as participate in the local Turkey Trot that supports the local food pantry. We also do Toys for Tots and send Christmas boxes into our church to send around the world.

  2. We can’t walk past the Santa’s with their kettles. We also give to toys R Tots, donate to food self, and sponsor a family for Christmas.

  3. We like to donate several times a year. One way we participate in the Spirit of Giving is by donating produce from my garden. It feels good to help others out!

  4. I try to be more conscientious this this time of year about the needs of others. I do donate to the local food bank and I try to make sure I also donate dog food for pets of families that are experiencing hard times.

  5. We do a secret santa exchange among the adults and then we use the money we would have spent on those gifts and give them to a local charity or a person in need.

  6. In the past, I’ve selected a child from the tree at church and bought gifts for them. This year, we will be donating some items to a children’s shelter and food bank.

  7. We do random acts of kindness all year, usually it is not something we plan, we just wait until we see an opportunity and it usually presents itself at the perfect time. One year our bakery gave us an extra lemon tart for Christmas and we gave it to some guys sleeping under a bridge on the way home. They were so happy we went and got them soup & sandwiches too.
